Lots for tots Residents of the Central Park community, including Scarlett Menard (above), celebrated the giving spirit, as well as some neighborhood fun, by organizing a Toys for Tots drive. They collected about 200 gifts and enjoyed a parade Dec. 17 that included lighted firetrucks, decorated golf carts and a visit from Santa.

Toys, baby! Lakewood Ranch’s Dick Vitale and his wife, Lorraine, helped spread holiday cheer on Dec. 15 as 340 children attended the Boys and Girls Clubs of Sarasota County’s holiday party. The Vitales donated $10,000 to help purchase gifts. Dick Vitale shared his message of dreaming big and being good to people.
