SHARK BAIT Diamond Vault presented an in-progress design, the diamond shark brooch, which was raffled at the gala. It is crafted with gradients of multicolored natural diamonds, hand-set in white and yellow gold, and finished with hand engraving and distinct accents of rhodium and ruthenium.

ote Marine Laboratory celebrated its 60-year history at its Oceanic Evening “Diamond Anniversary” gala Saturday, Oct. 31, at The Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota. About 450 supporters gathered in the newly renovated ballroom and enjoyed dinner, featuring locally harvested lionfish and live music by the De Leon Orchestra. Mote President and CEO Michael Crosby announced the progress of Mote’s fundraising campaign, Oceans of Opportunity, which has already raised $38 million toward its $50 million goal.
