As I reflect on events covered in this issue of Your NewsMag I’m reminded of how special our community is to live, work and play. Today, it is common to travel far and wide for eduction and exploration providing opportunities to pick a new place to call home. But it’s fairly common for those that grew up here to find their way back home to Merrick and Bellmore. Perhaps its because of the good nature and caring spirit shown by our teachers, business owners and community members.

Teachers and administrators in the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District participated in the “Faculty Follies” to raise money for the district Community Cupboard. They put personal time and effort towards giving back to our community and showing the students the importance of volunteerism and helping families. Families responded to the teachers in kind, by filling the auditorium and cheering them on while watching fabulous performances by the talented staff.
