December really is the most exciting month - with all the child like wonder, excitement and anticipation. If only it wasn’t also the most hectic time of the year!

The magazine this month has some great reading, page 6 has great Aussie Christmas Tips. On page 8 there is an interesting article, (especial for those of us with New Preps next year) about the Essential Literary Skills for Preschoolers. There are some great homemade Christmas Gift ideas, page 18 and Finish the Decade with Gratitude, can be found on page 20. A little bit of fun can be found on page 27, What our young readers like most about Christmas ....

Christmas is a wonderful time of year for children, Kids Corner has a Reindeer colouring in to do and when that is completed maybe mum or dad can help write a ‘Letter to Santa’ . The community has a lot going on at this time of year - be sure to flick through to page 23 for What’s On for all the details.

Don’t forget Summer is a great time to get out and enjoy the fantastic weather and our local parks and bush walking tracks. Hanging with Hannah can be found on page 14, visiting a local park in Doreen.

This month Hannah visited Towerhill Park, for a play in the beau ful spring sunshine (if only it wasn’t so windy!) The park is located in the Vantage Point Estate, in Doreen. It has a small playground and really nice gardens.

The playground has some fun play equipment - a slide, 2 rockers, 2 swings, a play shop window (where Polar Bear and Hannah sold Pizza) and lots of things to climb over and across.

Other facili es include - a shelter with sea ng, a bbq and a rubbish bin.

Hannah’s p off the month - taking your cuddly best friends to the park can make an adventure ... so much more fun!
