Manningham Welcome to March 2014 and the first month of Autumn. I always enjoy the seasonal change from Summer to Autumn it is a great time to visit outdoor cafes. Two gorgeous local cafes are Warrandyte CafĂŠ and Yarra Organics both are child friendly with the most beautiful atmosphere.

At the start of February fire emergency alerts were sent out, 150 fire fighters, 20 fire trucks were battling fires in the Warrandyte area.

I saw on the news that 3 houses were burnt and one house damaged. There was a cloud of smoke that was visible all over Manningham and so many worried families.

The CFA was very vigilant in those conditions and did get the fire under control.

On a brighter note it is Festival Season in Manningham. Did anyone go to Tunstall Twilight Festival on the 1st of March?

The start of March brings Manningham Healthy Lifestyle Week which has activities on offer across the community and is run from February 27th - 9th March. All details are on the council website. http://www.manningham.vic.gov.au/play/events/hlw.html Every year I love attending the Templestowe Festival. Templestowe Square comes to life and you see all the locals having a great time. So many activities, stalls and free live shows, so for a great family day out come down to Templestowe Festival on Sunday the 30th of March from 9.am to 5pm.

Do you have an interest in self defence? Well if you do Gracies Jui Jitsu is opening in mid march and is offering self defence classes as well as Jui Juitsu classes for 5 -7 yo and 8 - 12yo, details on page 7.
