Banyule & Nillumbik Hello and Welcome to our June issue, Winter is officially here although I am not sure about you but I felt as if it arrived in May and stayed, I am not unhappy about Winter because it means Spring is just around the corner albeit a three month corner!

Who doesn’t love a Teddy Bears Picnic? Diamond Valley Miniature Railway in Eltham Lower Park is holding one on the Queens Birthday long weekend, on Sunday 7th and Monday 8th June ‐ free rides if you are under 17 otherwise $3.00 a ride.

We have some great reading this month ‘From Planning to Doing’ all about setting goals and following through, see page 4.

On page 16 enjoy ‘Fun With Maths’ great ways to incorporate maths into everyday life with children.

Diamond Valley Miniature Railway Steam Gala

The Annual Diamond Valley Miniature Railway Steam Gala will be held on Queen's Birthday Sunday and Monday, a great opportunity for the whole family to experience a miniature steam railway. Diamond Valley Miniature Railway at Eltham Lower Park runs every Sunday with a trip taking approximately 12 minutes and running for 2 km through the picturesque Eltham Lower Park.

During the Annual Steam Gala Event Steam locomotives will be a feature of the days public running and a great opportunity for Mums, Dads and Kids to see real live steam locomotives hauling small scale trains through the Park. Eltham Lower Park has picnic facilities including BBQ's and walking tracks down to the junction of Diamond Creek and the Yarra River.

Diamond valley Miniature Railway is one of the Great Little Railways of Victoria and is very affordable at $3.00 per ride.
