Hi & welcome to our March issue We're almost half way through the first term of school and in comparison to past years we are going along really well! Both the big boys love their teachers and have happily headed off to school each morning, we haven't lost an item yet (let me touch some wood) and no complaints about what they are getting for lunch. Ollie on the other hand, still hates the drop off at daycare - his tears fill my mornings with a nice dose of mother guilt!

Our puppy Louie is growing so fast. Not surprising given his never ending appetite. He’ll eat anything (I have never known a dog to eat bananas) We have to make sure the kids are careful when they are eating as he harasses them non-stop! Seriously it’s like I have a 4th child and someone else the kids can fight with, dob on and cry about! But he is so super cute and even after ripping up a whole newspaper I love that he has joined our family.

Inside this issue is some great reading that may relate to you and your family. With range of topics that provide some helpful suggestions on routines now that the kids are back at school, chores for kids, the bonuses of cooking with kids along with a banana bread recipe for you to try out – just to mention a few. We have also brought back our regular Out and About playground review. This month we visited a fantastic park in St Helena that you are going to want to visit. Kids Corner has a fun Bath Paint recipe for you to whip up – it's a favourite in our home and is good for those times when kids don't want to have a bath - even Off to watch the girls play footy the bigger ones!

Anthony Beale Reserve Playspace Wahroonga Crescent ST HELENA Tucked away just off St. Helena Road you will find this amazing new play space. Don’t expect to see the usual fort like structures as this space was built with the idea that children can play and get creative. I promise you will not be disappointed.

After well over an hour I had to bribe my tribe to leave!!

The layout is well spaced and consists of a double flying fox, a large climbing net, double slides to race down , an in ground carousel, spinners, logs to climb and balance on, a nest swing, a giant hamster wheel (yes you read that correctly!) and a huge sand pit with a hand water pump to create a flowing creek with the help of moving blocks to

redirect the flow down into the sand.

If your kids love basketball then bring one with you because there is a half court for them to practice on. Or if skating and scooting is more their thing they will be happy to know there is also a small skate area. And if you wonder (like I did) what the tube structure with seats that looks like a bus stop is all about, it’s a teen tube with WiFi!!

There are picnic tables and seats spotted through the area or you could take a rug and settle in under the shade of the trees. But remember to pack snacks and drinks as I’m guessing that you might be there for a while!!

Help the pencils to get to the middle of the maze to colour the butterfly & flowers

Ingredients 1/4 cup baby shampoo or body wash 1/4 cup corn flour 1-2 tablespoons of water Food colouring

HOMEMADE BATH PAINT

Add cornstarch to a mixing bowl Follow with shampoo/body wash & mix to combine Add water a tablespoon at a time until mixture is thick enough to stick to paint brush without being to runny. If it gets too runny, add more cornstarch, too thick, add more water.

Divide mixture if you want more than 1 colour . (You could use - paint trays, jars, ice tray or even a muffin tin) Add food colouring to make your colours. You only need a few drops!

Hand it over to your little artist and watch the fun!!

Good for the shower or the bath.

It’s even been used to help wash the car too!!
