“Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations. The LORD is trustworthy in all he promises and faithful in all he does” (Psalm 145:13).

Acquired by Young Life in 2016, Tudor Farms is a 6,500-acre property including a professionally Cambridge, managed wildlife habitat as well as a Maryland magnificent lodge and grounds. The land has been splendidly managed for waterfowl hunting, yet also boasts some of Maryland’s best hunting for whitetails, sika deer and wild turkey. God led Young Life to the opportunity to receive Tudor Farms when word from a local resident reached us, “An owner of a large property in Maryland is looking to sell it to a nonprofit organization.” Having had extensive experience managing large properties, Young Life was in the running! After formulating a proposal, detailing hopes and dreams for a potential camp for kids, Young Life was given the property via a generous donation from the owner! Without expectation or certainty, Young Life had again received a gift that was seemingly larger than life. Once acquired, studies were performed and long conversations were held about the property’s potential as a camp for kids. Limiting factors abounded; not ruling it out, but keeping the opportunity to build a camp further from reach. Today, Young Life finds itself in an open-handed posture, knowing God intended for the mission to have this incredible property, but unsure of what exactly God has in store for Tudor Farms. God’s spirit and grace have been present throughout this process. Through hunting trips, hosting staff, volunteers and friends of the mission, God’s hand has clearly been on the property, transforming lives for His Kingdom. Unclear about what will ultimately happen with Tudor Farms, the mission is in the midst of discerning God’s direction. Tudor Farms was sold in August, 2020 and is no longer a Young Life property.
Tudor Farms is a gift that is beyond understanding and a statement of God’s dominion. It is an incredible property, however, at the time this section is being written, Young Life is not yet sure how it will be used longterm. Is there anything in your life that has happened, which you have no idea why? Whether easy or difficult, how are you opening your hands to God, trusting in His promises and faithfulness, and letting Him work in and through this situation?
