Founded in 1964 with just 60 students, York Technical College now welcomes between 5,000 to 7,000 credit students each year at its main campus in Rock Hill, conveniently located off Interstate 77, as well as its offcampus center in Chester. York Technical College believes in supporting you both in and outside of the classroom. We offer academic coaching and tutoring services, as well as internships and apprenticeships. Our Academic & Career Advising Center teams offer career guidance and assistance to both students and alumni.

ACADEMIC COACHING

Students benefit from one-on-one support during academic coaching sessions. Designed to help students become independent and efficient learners, individualized sessions cover skill assessment and building as well as test-taking skills, note-taking, organization, and time-management.

TUTORING

Open to all students, we offer year-round tutoring in various subjects to assist students with their coursework. In addition to in-person sessions, online tutoring is also available with technology platforms such as D2L and Navigate.

SUPPLEMENTAL INSTRUCTION

Students receive built-in support for math through course-specific learning and study strategies, structured study time with peers, and review of terms, concepts, and lessons in a lab associated with the course.

A program which provides the foundation of financial assistance for postsecondary education.

FEDERAL WORK-STUDY

Part-time employment program which provides jobs that allow students to earn money for education expenses.

SOUTH CAROLINA NEED-BASED GRANT (SCNBG)

State-funded, need-based grant for students enrolled as undergraduates in public institutions of higher learning in South Carolina.

LOTTERY TUITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (LTAP)

Supplemental funds for educational purposes for South Carolina students.

LIFE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Merit based scholarship eligible for South Carolina high school graduates.

PALMETTO FELLOW SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Merit based scholarship for academically talented high school seniors in South Carolina.

The York Technical College Foundation was established in 1983 as a notfor-profit foundation that is dedicated to supporting the mission of York Technical College. The Foundation is committed to providing resources that assist students in their quest to achieve their academic and career goals. Thanks to alumni, employee, and community contributions, the Foundation makes available financial resources to support student success by:

Designated annually for merit and needbased scholarships by The Foundation

Through donations, grants, and scholarships, the foundation provides various programs and services for current and prospective students.

Financial assistance for students enrolled in credit and non-credit programs.

Emergency Assistance Fund grants are available for York Technical College students experiencing financial hardships.

The Innovation Mini-Grant Program provides up to $25,000 annually to encourage employees to create innovative programs and projects to support student success.

This general campus tour is offered monthly and is ideal for anyone considering York Tech now or in the future. Expect to spend about two hours learning about the College and touring campus.

SELF-GUIDED TOUR

Looking to explore campus on your own terms? Our selfguided tour allows visitors to check in at the Welcome Center, located in the Student Services (Building J), throughout the week Monday through Thursday. Their hours are 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. and provide a campus map, tour instructions, and guidelines so you can create your own campus experience.

Applying is free and easy! Complete the admissions application online at yorktech.edu/apply. Create an account, enter your information and submit your application.

CHECK YOUR APPLICATION STATUS

Throughout the process, we’ll communicate with you about the status of your application. In order to place you into the correct courses and get accepted, we’ll need additional information from you.

APPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID

Submit your FAFSA at www.studentaid.gov to see how much financial aid you are eligible to receive. OUR FAFSA CODE: 003996

REGISTER FOR CLASSES

Once you are accepted, we’ll send you an email with several registration options. Our Enrollment team will use the information to suggest courses and help you finish registering.

ATTEND ORIENTATION

We offer in-person and online orientation to give you the information you need to know to start classes!
