YIDINDJI NATIONAL DAY OFFICIAL SPEECH The Hon. Murrumu of Walubara Minister for Foreign Affairs & Trade, Minister for Renewable Energy, Minister for Communications & Broadband. Thank you. First and foremost I want to acknowledge the members of the Yidindji society, Jangalan Yidindji, the elders of the tribal council and of course my colleagues, that hold offices of the Yidindji government. But more importantly, I would like to acknowledge, Gayaburra, the one true God and His only begotten Son Yeshua Hamashiach for He truly is a rock and a fortress. January 7 is important day here on the Yidindji territory and without it, we as a government may not have come into existence, which is the very reason that we have identified this day as the official Yidindji national day. But maybe a lot of people, don't know how and why January 7 is a significant date. It was on this day in 2013, that the very beginnings of what we know today as the Sovereign Yidindji Government started its journey. There had been a meeting held on the tablelands, and it was determined that the Yidindji nation would reinvigorate the law, and express it in written form through a legal personality that was created by and subject to the very law of the land. So it began the codification process. Goon-Jarrah-By on behalf of the Yalmabara clan of Yidindji declared in a letter that was addressed to several international persons including but not limited to, the Pope Joseph Ratzinger, the Queen head of the Commonwealth, the United nations and the Australian Prime Minister, who was Julia Gillard at that time in relation to Yidindji and I quote: “from this day forward will be conducting Tribal activities on Yidindji Tribal Lands for the full enjoyment of the Tribal People.” In the historic 19 page document, Goon-Jarrah-By, outlined the intentions of the Yidindji nation in particular the following: That the Yidindji nation was to let the world know of its continuing law and sovereignty, in the article it was written: “The Tribal People have never gave, ceded, treatied, bargained, sold or contracted away Tribal Lands, the British Government of the time and subsequently the State
