Lindsey Lundvall grew up in Rapid City, SD, and began dance training at Prima School of Dancing at the age of 3 She studied a variety of dance styles including ballet, tap, jazz, and hip hop She furthered her dance experience by dancing on the dance team at South Dakota State University Since 2018, Lindsey has been teaching ballet at Dance Arts Gillette and is certified as a Cecchetti Dance Instructor Lindsey has a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education and a Masters degree in School Counseling She has been teaching in CCSD since 2011 She is currently the School Counselor at Buffalo Ridge Elementary School Lindsey is married to her husband Shay and together they have called Gillette home since 2008 They have two beautiful children, Skylin and Breckin Lindsey and her husband Shay competed as a couple for Gillettes Dancing with the Stars in 2013 This will be Lindseys 5th year choreographing for the group dancers as well as having her own couple Lindsey loves to laugh, joke around, and just have fun with her couple as well as the group dancers
Tara Konyn, born and raised in Gillette, moved to Portland, OR after high school to pursue her passion for the Arts Teaching Ballroom Dance quickly became a part of her daily life Over the last 15 years she has taught professionally and independently for Fred Astaire and Arthur Murray Dance Studios Tara has performed and competed in the Las Vegas National Dance Championships and has also choreographed, performed and worked on crew in many showcases She has also choreographed wedding routines, and helped her students win the local Portland Dancing with the Stars After taking a hiatus to start her family and further her degree in healthcare and start her business, TK Movement, she is ready to get back on the dance floor and share her fire and passion for ballroom dance
Melissa Youngers first performance was at the ripe old age of five completed with a tutu, tap shoes, and brown teddy bear who served as my quiet but oh-so-snuggly dance partner With continued studio training and hours of practice her performances grew to include ballet, jazz, tap, modern, lyrical, and pointe at a local, regional, and national level What was not apparent at the time was how her training and level of commitment and dedication would continue to play as an encore for the rest of her life
Youll now find her at Gillette Optometric Clinic PC, as a business partner and optometrist when she is not fulfilling her obligations to her three beautiful children and most amazing dance partner of seventeen years, Paul What life has not prepared her for is how dance remains an integral component to her happiness From the impromptu dance parties in her living room, to the ballroom dance floor, she is beyond thrilled to be choreographing for this year s Gillette Dancing with the Stars! Be prepared for a night of ghouling entertainment complete with tantalizing tricks, freaky flicks, and of course a little bit of graveyard romance but until then continue to dance on!
