Η βάση του GYC βρίσκεται σε ξεχωριστό χώρο στο Le Grand Bellevue Hotel του Gstaad, και το πολυτελές του Clubshouse περιλαμβάνει ένα εξαιρετικό εστιατόριο μελών, υπό τη διεύθυνση του Robert Speth, του guru στη γαστρονομία του Gstaad, καθώς και μπαρ, σαλόνια με τζάκι, ναυτική βιβλιοθήκη και αίθουσες συνεδριάσεων και παιχνιδιών. Gstaad Yacht Club In Continuation of our presentations of famous Yacht Clubs that YCG is sistered with, we hereby present the Gstaad Yacht Club. The Gstaad Yacht Club was founded by 10 prominent international sailors with Gstaad as a base, inspired by His Majesty King Constantine, a Patron of the GYC, whose vision was to create a unique global yacht club away from the waters, instead of another local club by the waters. The GYC currently numbers over 420 members from over 20 countries and thus enjoys an exclusive circle of the Gstaad acquaintances. Peter Erzberger, one of the founders, is the current Commodore of the GYC, whereas George Nicholson, a founder, is the honorary president. The Club management is in the hands of Cindy Schönrich, who is the focal point for all aspects of GYC and has developed strong international connections to other clubs, promoters, yacht and boat owners, agents, partners and sponsors. The GYC’s clubhouse is based above the spa of Le Grand Bellevue Hotel in Gstaad, where its members and their guests can enjoy the harmony between the sea and the mountains, as well as a top restaurant and relaxation areas. Although the club has no lake or sea access, its strength lies with its members and its affiliation and reciprocity agreements with 22 of the best known yacht and sailing clubs around the world. The GYC promotes championship sailing for all ages, by providing on-land training and on-water education, and children, youth and club teams are introduced and trained by top level sailing pros. Results have a great history at the GYC, where 12 of its members, representing seven different countries, have participated in Olympic Game. Furthermore, GYC Sports Members represent Switzerland in sailing at every Olympic Games since 2004. The most popular (and unusual) events organised by GYC include Ski Yachting, held in Gstaad in wintertime, and the Centenary Trophy in autumn in St. Tropez.
