OUR CLUB NOW OFFICIALLY REGISl'ERED THE Sabah FoundatiQn Sports and Hecreation Club, better known as SAFOND SHe, is now officially registered. During the interim period, whilst waiting for official approval by the Registrar of Societies I the sports and recreational activities for staff of Sabah Foundation in Kota Kinabalu had been organised by a Sports Committee of the Foundation. The id~a of establishing a sports and recreation club for the staff was first mooted by the Director of Sabah Foundation, Datuk Ben Stephens, ~t the Staff Christmas Party in December last year~ Datuk Ben was unanimously elected the first President of SAFOND SHC, at the inaugural GGn~ral Meeting of the Club held on August 6. Th~ response t3 the various activities ~rgani5ed by the Club has so far been very. encoura~ing. A shop space ~n the ground floor of the Foundation's headquarters at Sinsuran Shopping Complex has been allocated for use by Club members for table tennis, darts and carrom. The badminton practice sessions at Dewan Basel on Tuesdays and Fridays are well attended by playere. A number of friendly soccer matches have been played between the SAFOND t~am and others. For the first time this year, Sports Tournaments lor Sarond stall have been held. Team Events in seven types of games have been held in the last two months and are almost completed. The Indi.vidual Competitions are now in progress. This newslett6r~ BERITA SAFOND; commenced publication in September 1977 and has sines been making its appearance around the middle @f each month.. It is given free to paying members of SAFOND SRC, mainly to provide them with news on Club activities and events.

ALADDIN BEe MES OVER-ALL CHAMPION T A· FOR 1977 ALADDIN.has emerged as the over-all champion team in the Team Event. Sports Tournament '77 organised by SAFOND SRC. The champion team has scored d total of 2) points in the seven games held over the laat two months. They have won four of the events; badminton, dart., basketball and volleyball. COBRAS are next with a total of ten points, beins victors in carrem .nd table tennis and winning two points in darts. BIONIC take. third place with a score of seven' points, with three points f'rom f'ootball and two points each from badminton and basketball.

The team competitions which started with a badminton match on _ 'September 20, are almost completed, except for a rematch in football, FOOTBALL: The rematch between Bionic and Aladdin will Aecide which team is champion in this ~ame. The two teams drew (4-4) in a previous match. Cobras has taken third place after losing to Aladdin (B-2) and Bionic (4-1).

VOLLEYBALL: The remaining match in this event will be between Cobras and Bionic, ~i&hting for aeeoad and third places. Both teams lost to Aladdin in earlier matches, played at the Sebeh College court. BASKETBALL: There was quite a diaappointment'in this event. Out of the three scheduled matches only one was played. This was between Bionic and Aladdin at th. Sacred Heart School. Both t am. had a walk-over win each when Cobras failed to ceme up with a full team.
