FILM SET DESIGN INTRODUCTION What has influenced our society and the place to live well ?

It is definitely the house, the modern architecture of the contemporarery period, its function, regularity, clarity and simplicity.

Important is the innovation with new materials and technologies. This project was an opportunity to get to know the true essence of architecture, its purpose and the work of archi tects.

Throughout the portfolio it will be introduced the design to you, the development process and finally the model.

This project has been curated collectively as a team including work from every member.

STORYBOARD - CHARACTERS AND SCENES

A journey of five friends to discover themselves crossing the jungle full of obstacles and difficulties, towards the contemporary life and modern city.

EMMA : age 19.

She is tall, serious and confident. She usually wears black and occasionally red. She prefers tight clothes, dresses, skirts and jeans.

XIANA : age 19.

She is pretty, shy, strong, stylish. She has respect for others, peace in her mind, compassion and she wears colourful clothes.

KAY : age 20.

He is the central character of the film and Xiana is his girlfriend. He is tall and thin, generous of spirit, easily approachable and likeable. He has a passion for guitar and singing.

BIG J : age 23.

The Kay’s best friend. He is the older but less mature, tall and cumbersome.He has dark hair and always wears big boots, jeans, leather jacket. He is a big rock fan.

DJIN : age 20.

He is funny and supremely witty, always looking for an opportunity to ridicule a situation or people. Emma is her closer friend.

In this scene there is Kay who is playing the piano.

It is a bright and solid room with a couple of cosy couches, a stereo on a table with vinyl records nearby ,shelves full of games and magazines.

In this scene the camera lifts and moves into the bedroom through the sliding screen across a very messy bed. Clothes are strewn all around, There are shelves full of clothes, a small suitcase open and empty, cardboard boxes and a black Fender Telecaster near the window.

The camera swings round at door which is shut. A small handmade sign says KAI, GO AWAY.

1ST MODEL MAKING-5TH FEBRUARY After coming up with some general sketches and concepts of the house , we met up as a group and began to make a model. Since the studio was closed on the weekend, we moved to a group member’s flat to work. In the end, we produced a simple first draft.

HOUSE DESIGN INTRODUCTION Every architects has their individual expectations and ambitions in terms of the final result of their project. The process of designing a home is very demanding and challenging, as it is a crucial stage that is responsible for making your vision a reality.

In the initial part of this project it will be intro duced the first step to be able to design a house, the site analysis which is the foundation to create a building appropriate to the location and its charac teristics.

This project has been curated individually.

SITE DOCUMENTATION / ANALYSIS 93, The Salford Quays M5O 3TT (UK) THE LOCATION : Salford Quays is one of the UK’s best cultural, sporting and leisure destinations, attracting international visitors. It is also home to thousands of people, the BBC, ITV and a host of creative businesses.

The area is known for its unique waterways, popular restaurants and bars, shopping, iconic buildings and a variety of hotels which make it the perfect destination for a day out or short break.

You will find world-class arts and culture at the Lowry, home to the largest collection of work by artist LS Lowry, other art exhibitions and top quality theatre performances. Nearby is the Imperial War Museum in the North, exploring the impact of conflict on people and society.

The waterways which run through the Quays are a huge part of its attraction with visitors looking to enjoy boat cruises and watersports.
