ABOUT OUR PROGRAM:
The Smilow Cancer Hospital Lung Cancer Screening Program has a team of experts to check for the possibility of lung cancer. Our goal is to provide the highest quality lung cancer screening for those at risk.
Should You Get Lung Screening?
You should be screened for lung cancer if you are:
• 50 to 80 years old
• Currently smoking or quit within the last 15 years
• Smoked cigarettes for at least 20 pack-years
• 20 pack-years is the equivalent of:
• One pack/day for 20 years, or
• Two packs/day for 10 years or
• A half pack/day for 40 years
What Our Program Offers:
• High quality lung cancer screening with an imaging procedure that creates detailed pictures of your lung, called a CT scan
• Lung cancer experts who will carefully review your CT scan results
• Clear advice about your scan from our team of lung care experts
• Follow-up monitoring
• Access to lung cancer screening counseling including:
– Personalized evaluation of your risk for lung cancer
– Support and advice for people who want to quit smoking
