Smilow Cancer Hospital offers a comprehensive, multidisciplinary clinic focused on optimized clinical care and research for patients with newly diagnosed localized and advanced prostate cancer. Once eligibility is confirmed, patients with newly diagnosed, localized as well as locally advanced and oligometastatic prostate cancer, will be seen by a team of specialists.
The clinic, located at Smilow Cancer Hospital in Stamford, will provide multidisciplinary consultation to patients with prostate cancer, a complex disease with many different treatment approaches and for which personalized care is paramount. A patient with prostate cancer confined to the prostate may be offered active surveillance, robotic surgery, or radiation therapy, sometimes combined with hormonal treatment. In addition, high-risk and locally advanced patients are often treated with a combination of therapies that typically need more systemic treatment. Our physicians will assess and discuss the next steps for each patient, including discussing innovative clinical trials that may be available.
