My task was to help develop these standards for Inova clients. Today the Inova Ambulatory Care network comprises nearly 2.5 million square feet across more than 300 locations throughout Northern Virginia, and the network is still expanding rapidly. This includes both fully owned and leased facilities and includes an enormous variety of buildings. These Ambulatory Standards have been created as a guide for architects, interior designers, engineers and Inova Project Managers, etc. to design existing and new facilities.
Reception Desk Principles:
- Reception desk to be standard lengths based on the number of positions needed:
1 person desk - 10’-0” total length
2 person desk - 12’-0” total length
3 person desk - 16’-0” total length
4 person desk - 20’-0” total length
- All items below desks or on counter to be mobile and/or furniture
- 1 furniture mobile storage pedestal per 2 workstations
- 1 shred bin per reception desk, located under ADA transaction counter
- 1 all-in-one printer per reception desk, located below counter on pull out stand

INDIVIDUAL PROJECT I - REMEMORY
Alzheimer’s disease is the most common cause of dementia. It is one of the major contributors to disability and the prevalence was higher among older age groups in the rural areas of the country with an increasing trend in the recent years. The sanatorium design tells a story of an old couple in a Chinese village. The wife got Alzheimer’s disease, and the husband rebuilt their house to take care of her, which inspires other villagers to build the large sanatorium in village.

The husband got the letter that says his wife probably got Alzheimer's disease. He was so shocked. He went back home hurridely and on the road, he kept thinking about what should he do next. When he arrived, his old wife has already lain on bed and almost did not recognize him. He stayed alone the woods for a long time. He felt so sad and guilty for not accompanying her for long time and made up his mind to take care of her in the future. "The house is too old to live, if can change it, she could live more happily and conviniently," He thought. He began to do sketches for transforming their seaweed house. He started working very soon. Make the window wider, remove all the steps, make a gym space..... The house looks good and his wife even got better. Why don't we build sanatorium in the village for all these old people? Yes! INDIVIDUAL PROJECT III- Heroes in Harms' Way
Corona-virus issues, I want to make a little effort for health care conditions. The idea of this project is to provide movable hospitals for neighborhood. The inside space can be divided into test station, ward for mild symptoms, ICU, sterilizing room, and resting space for doctors. Different passages are built for separating patients from doctors and normal people. All the space are designed in trunk boxes for the fast transportation and popularization. Those modules can be easily settled and built up.
