James and the Giant Peach At the Speak Up Club! we are reading James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl. Very peculiar things happen to James Henry Trotter after he meets an old man who gives him a bag with little green things "with more magic and power (...) than all the rest of the world put together" (Dahl, Roald. James and the giant peach: a children's story). The old peach tree finally gives one peach which does not stop growing until it is GIANT! James finds a tunnel in it and goes inside the peach where he makes wonderful new friends! These are insects that can talk, wear clothes, and are as big as a dog, as a BIG dog! Form 4 students brought information about the insects that James meets inside the peach and created big books in groups. We shared information and pictures and then found out about the different parts a book needs - a cover with an attractive title and images together with the authors' names, a back cover with a blurb, and interesting content for each page. After this, each team member started working on his or her assigned page. This is the result! We hope you enjoy it! Click on the links below to read the books: The magic world of insects
