BRIDGING THE GAP
Loubna Imenchal Head of Enterprise Business for AMETCA Africa, Middle East, Türkiye and Central Asia, Logitech
AI-Powered and EcoConscious:
LOGITECH’S FORMULA FOR THE FUTURE OF WORKSPACES
There’s no doubt that hybrid work has become the new normal. How is Logitech addressing the challenges that come with this shift?
At Logitech, we’ve fully embraced the hybrid work model as the foundation for the future of work. Our goal is to create human-first solutions that help people stay both connected and productive, no matter their location. We focus on making technology scalable, sustainable and easy to use. With this in mind, our products are designed to simplify collaboration for everyone – whether you are in a meeting room, at home or on the go.
For instance, our MeetUp 2 USB conference camera leverages artificial intelligence to automatically detect and frame meeting attendees, optimizing the remote experience. This makes video meetings more engaging and effective for everyone involved. We also offer a comprehensive portfolio of video collaboration and personal workspace solutions that seamlessly integrate across different devices and platforms, ensuring smooth communication in the “everywhere workplace”.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been a significant focus for Logitech. Can you share how AI is being integrated into your collaboration solutions?
AI is at the heart of many of our products; it’s helping us elevate the user experience, making our tools smarter and more efficient. We’ve been using AI in our products and software to help companies tackle hybrid work challenges, create equitable collaboration experiences and provide actionable data to business leaders so they can make smarter technology investment decisions.
The AI-powered audio and visual optimization in our video collaboration solutions or noise suppression in our headsets enhances the features of our products. While we innovate with AI to make collaboraiton better, we keep the focus not on technology, but on humans.
The MeetUp 2 camera is a good example, it uses AI for intelligent framing and speaker tracking, so it can automatically adjust the camera to focus on whoever is speaking. This makes meetings feel more dynamic and engages remote participants just as much as those in the meeting room.
Our Zone 305 Business Headset also integrates AI into noise cancellation. It filters out background noise,
so even if users are in noisy, public environments, they are able to communicate clearly. AI-driven tools like these are key to improving productivity and ensuring that hybrid teams can collaborate seamlessly, wherever they are.
In the context of today’s hybrid work environment, how does effective device management contribute to organizational success?
It is undoubtedly crucial for organizations to implement effective device management to successfully navigate the hybrid work environment. With employees splitting time between remote and in-office settings, a robust management strategy ensures that technology operates optimally and meets employee needs.
Logitech Sync is a real game-changer when it comes to managing devices and workspaces across an organization. With Sync, IT teams can monitor and manage all of their collaboration tools remotely. It provides real-time diagnostics, allows for easy firmware updates, and offers valuable insights into room usage. This not only ensures that everything is running smoothly but also helps organizations optimize their workspaces.
In today’s hybrid work environment, having the ability to manage devices from a single platform is crucial because it makes it easier to scale and maintain collaboration tools. This is all part of our commitment to providing smart, easy-to-use solutions that empower businesses to adapt to the future of work.
Sustainability is clearly a major focus for Logitech. How do you incorporate sustainability into product design?
Sustainability is central to everything we do at Logitech. We constantly assess the environmental and social impact of our products – from the raw materials we use to how products are disposed of at the end of their lifecycle. Today, 3 in 4 products use Next Life Plastics (recycled plastic) instead of virgin plastic, including those powered by CollabOS, are made from postconsumer recycled plastic. This significantly reduces our carbon footprint.
For example, the MeetUp 2 camera is made with
over 60% recycled plastic, and our Zone 305 Business Headset is crafted from over 50% recycled materials. We are designing products to last longer, and when they reach the end of their life, they are easier to recycle. We believe that sustainability is not just an initiative but a core principle to guide how we operate.
Could you share more about Logitech’s initiatives around education and how you’re supporting new ways of learning?
Education is an area where we see immense potential for innovation. Through our “New Logic of Learning” initiative, we’ve been focusing on creating tools that enhance both in-class and remote learning experiences. Our goal is to foster increased engagement and collaboration between teachers and students, regardless of whether they’re in the same room or connecting remotely.
We’ve developed video collaboration solutions that allow for real-time interaction, enabling educators to create more immersive and interactive lessons. As hybrid and flexible learning models become more common, we want to ensure that students and educators have access to technology that enhances the learning experience, making it more impactful and enjoyable for all involved.
Logitech’s sustainability efforts resonate with businesses around the world. How does this commitment align with the company’s broader mission?
Our goal is simple: to enable seamless, sustainable collaboration for businesses around the world. We believe that innovation and sustainability can go hand in hand. Whether it's through our AI-powered products or our use of recycled materials, we aim to help companies not only improve their operations but also reduce their environmental impact.
Sustainability is not an afterthought at Logitech— it’s deeply ingrained in how we design, manufacture, and manage our products. We’re committed to promoting a circular economy by designing products with longer lifespans, using materials that can be recycled, and reducing energy consumption across our
portfolio. As we continue to innovate, sustainability will remain a cornerstone of our business.
GITEX Global 2024 is just around the corner. What can we expect to see from Logitech at this year’s event?

How does Logitech plan to continue driving innovation in the rapidly evolving world of hybrid work?
Innovation is at the core of Logitech’s DNA. As the world of work continues to evolve, we remain committed to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in workplace technology. Artificial intelligence and machine learning will continue to play a big part in enhancing the user experience, and we’ll continue to prioritize sustainability in everything we do.
As companies craft and implement their long-term hybrid strategies, work is no longer confined to a cubicle. For companies, competitive advantage lies in enabling seamless transitions across these spaces.
Our approach is to keep technology flexible, as we believe the best tech experiences are those that are simple, human-first and fit any work environment. We’re focused on creating more flexible, customizable solutions that cater to the unique needs of businesses, whether they are large enterprises or small teams. By staying ahead of industry trends and listening closely to our customers, we’re confident that Logitech will continue to be a leader in shaping the future of work.

multiple cloud service providers (CSPs) to support their operations, with many using over three CSPs to meet diverse business needs. This trend is expected to persist as more organizations turn to public, private, and hybrid clouds to address their specific application needs, align with business preferences, and fulfill industry requirements.
Misconfigurations Present Major Risks: Misconfigurations remain a significant challenge, with organizations experiencing increased security incidents due to this issue. While 79% of organizations are using DevOps practices, only 26% secure more than half of their cloud-native applications. This lack of early security integration has resulted in vulnerabilities, application downtime, and unauthorized access.
Importance of Early Security Integration: The gap in implementing security measures during the development process has led
to increased security incidents, underscoring the need for a stronger focus on security from the outset.
Strengthening DevSecOps
Adoption: Nearly half of organizations plan to enhance their DevSecOps practices in the next two years, aiming to address the security weaknesses identified in their cloud applications. By integrating security tools, they can improve incident response and vulnerability management.
Demand for Efficient Remediation Tools: Organizations report experiencing businessimpacting consequences tied to attacks that occurred between initial detection and remediation time. As a result, they are seeking advanced tools to accelerate threat detection and response, reducing the impact of attacks on their operations.
Investing in Cloud Security
Solutions: The survey indicates a strong consensus on the need for investment in cloud security platforms and DevSecOps within the next year, encompassing solutions like cloud workload protection and entitlement management.
With many businesses relying on multiple cloud service providers, vulnerabilities related to misconfigurations and insufficient security integration during development can lead to serious risks, including data breaches and operational disruptions.
NIS2 Could have Prevented 90% EMEA Cybersecurity Incidents
Organizations are navigating a landscape of mixed emotions as the Network and Information Security Directive 2022/2555 –NIS2 enforcement date approaches. NIS2, a regulation aimed at strengthening cybersecurity across the EU by expanding the scope and increasing the rigor of security requirements, goes into effect on 18 Oct. 2024. Veeam Software, commissioned a new survey from Censuswide that revealed that only 43% of EMEA IT decision-makers believe NIS2 will significantly enhance EU cybersecurity. This is despite an overwhelming 90% of respondents reporting at least one security incident that the NIS2 directive could have prevented in the past 12 months. Alarmingly, 44% of respondents experienced more than three cyber incidents, with 65% of those categorized as “highly critical”.
The survey results, which encompass the views of 500+ IT decision-makers from Belgium, France, Germany, the Netherlands, and the UK, revealed the state of play less than a month before this directive takes effect on Oct. 18. Although nearly 80% of businesses are confident in their ability to eventually comply with NIS2 guidelines, up to two-thirds state they will miss this imminent deadline.
BARRIERS TO NIS2 COMPLIANCE
Achieving NIS2 compliance requires businesses to implement essential measures, such as defining incident response plans, securing supply chains, assessing vulnerabilities, and evaluating overall security levels. This includes all affiliated organizations, partners, and supply chains. However, several barriers to compliance persist. Key challenges cited by IT decision-makers include technical debt (24%), lack of leadership understanding (23%), and insufficient budget/investments (21%). Notably, 40% of respondents reported decreased IT budgets since the political agreement for NIS2 was proclaimed effective in January 2023, despite its stringent penalties, which are comparable to those of the EU’s flagship data privacy legislation, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). 63% of respondents view the GDPR as strict, and 62% express the same sentiment about NIS2.
COMPETITIVE PRESSURES AMID CYBERTHREATS
The slow pace of NIS2 adoption is likely due to the multitude of competing priorities and business pressures that face these organizations. Respondents rank NIS2 lower in urgency than ten other issues, including the skills gap, profitability, and digital transformation. Worryingly, 42% of respondents who consider NIS2 insignificant for EU cybersecurity improvements attribute this to inadequate consequences of non-compliance, which has led to widespread apathy towards the directive.

Cloudflare Announces New Capabilities for Workers AI
Workers AI is the easiest place to build and scale AI applications; can now deploy larger models and handle more complex AI task
Cloudflare has announced powerful new capabilities for Workers AI, the serverless AI platform, and its suite of AI application building blocks, to help developers build faster, more powerful and more performant AI applications. Applications built on Workers AI can now benefit from faster inference, bigger models, improved performance analytics, and more. Workers AI is the easiest platform to build global AI applications and run AI inference close to the user, no matter where in the world they are.
As large language models (LLMs) become smaller and more performant, network speeds will become the bottleneck to customer adoption and seamless AI interactions. Cloudflare’s globally distributed network helps to minimize network latency, setting it apart from other networks that are typically made up of concentrated resources in limited data centers. Cloudflare’s serverless inference platform, Workers AI, now has GPUs in more than 180 cities around the world, built for global accessibility to provide low latency times for end users all over the world. With this network of GPUs, Workers AI has one of the largest global footprints of any AI platform, and has been designed to run AI inference locally as close to the user as possible and help keep customer data closer to home.
“As AI took off last year, no one was thinking about network speeds as a reason for AI latency, because it was still a novel, experimental interaction. But as we get closer to AI becoming a part of our daily lives, the network, and milliseconds, will matter,” said Matthew Prince, co-founder and CEO, Cloudflare. “As AI workloads shift from training to inference, performance and regional availability are going to be critical to supporting the next phase of AI. Cloudflare is the most global AI platform on the market, and having GPUs in cities around the world is going to be what takes AI from a novel toy to a part of our everyday life, just like faster Internet did for smartphones.”
Cloudflare is also introducing new capabilities that make it the easiest platform to build AI applications with:
Upgraded performance and support for larger models: Now, Cloudflare is enhancing their global network with more powerful GPUs for Workers AI to upgrade AI inference performance and run inference on significantly larger models like Llama 3.1 70B, as well as the collection of Llama 3.2 models with 1B, 3B, 11B (and 90B soon). By supporting larger models, faster response times, and larger context windows, AI applications built on Cloudflare’s Workers AI can handle more complex tasks with greater efficiency – thus creating natural,
Matthew Prince Co-founder and CEO, Cloudflare
seamless end-user experiences.
Improved monitoring and optimizing of AI usage with persistent logs: New persistent logs in AI Gateway, available in open beta, allow developers to store users’ prompts and model responses for extended periods to better analyze and understand how their application performs. With persistent logs, developers can gain more detailed insights from users’ experiences, including cost and duration of requests, to help refine their application. Over two billion requests have traveled through AI Gateway since launch last year.
