What a fabulous event! On September 27th, the entire West County Community came together and raised over $34,000 for the Valley Fire relief effort. Tiny Tots Preschool

Jessica Morell Ages: 3 - 5 (plus 2 yr olds program!)

Garzot Duffield Bldg Tiny Tots is a community preschool that provides children a developmental approach to early childhood education. Tiny Tots is nestled in a large sunny park overlooking a year round pond that is full of ducks, turtles, fish and a visiting Egret named ‘Snowy’. Our play-based emergent curriculum is inspired by the Reggio Emi​lio belief that children use their own learning and are capable. We use a variety of methods that are child-centered, encourage activity, involvement, discovery and learning at the child’s own pace.

Tiny Tots Director Jessica Morell has an MA in Teaching and BA in psychology, and a pre-K - Kindergarten Montessori Diploma. The program runs during the school year, and also offers a summer session.

TeensWork

TeensWork is designed to help teens gain much needed job skills in preparation for entering the work force as young adults. Services are offered free of charge, and include classroom instruction, mentoring, help writing a resume, educational workshops, experiential learning opportunities and support in obtaining a job. Connecting in Nature Adventure

This is our signature school-year offering and a great way for youth to ground themselves in our fun team-building and leadership curriculum. Each meeting we will explore a local wild spot enjoying a mix of adventure (rock climbing, flat water or ocean paddling, and wilderness travel) and time connecting through nature awareness games, routines, and primitive skills. Participants will build friendships, endurance, and riding skill as they enjoy both road and mountain biking. The first two days we will ride West County back roads and mountain bike at Willow Creek SP. Our third gathering will include an overnight campout and bike at China Camp State Park. Spring Break 2016

A highlight of our veteran participants, the multi-age Spring Break trip mixes adventure, community, nature, and fun as we explore some of our epic local landscapes. This trip will take participants to the Marin coast to enjoy Bolinas waves, the Pt. Reyes headlands, and camping at Samuel P. Taylor State Park. Activities include ocean play (surfing, boogie boarding), hiking, and group camp fun.

The Sebastopol Community Cultural Center is saddened to share the news that Kathy Clifton, founder and the first director of Tiny Tots Preschool, has passed away. For over 30 years, Kathy brought joy and enrichment to the many preschoolers who had the good fortune to spend their days with her. Her legacy lives on in the Tiny Tots Community Preschool, which still reflects her nurturing and kind spirit. We will miss her terribly, but will always remember the great contribution she made to our community.

Kathy’s family has requested that the Community Center establish a fund in her name, to benefit the Tiny Tots Program. These gifts can be mailed to SCCC, P.O. Box 2028, Sebastopol, CA 95473. Please note in the memo section of the check that it is for the Kathy Clifton Memorial Fund. We will work with Kathy’s family to determine an appropriate way for these funds to memorialize Kathy Clifton and her lifetime of contributions to our community.
