SEAPARC Licensed Preschool

At SEAPARC Licensed Preschool we learn through play while:

• Exploring the great outdoors daily in all the variations of west coast weather

• Utilizing our surroundings here at SEAPARC including a fairy forest, swimming pool, nature trails, ice rink, turf field, creeks and the Sooke River

• Incorporating Physical Literacy (hopping, skipping, kicking, running, jumping, throwing & catching) to encourage kids to be active for life

• Incorporating early literacy and STEAM skills (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math)

• Working independently on daily life skills

• Being creative through open-ended art

• Raising environmental awareness through composting, recycling and gardening

• Providing an ideal environment in which to explore, create, discover, learn and grow

A $50 non-refundable deposit is required at time of registration to reserve your child’s spot.

Eligible families may apply for the Affordable Child Care Benefit to help with the cost of child care

Spring Hockey Sniper School

Ages 4-5

Are you an ice hockey player or perhaps you want to develop skills before joining next season? Whatever the reason, this program is designed to help elevate your puck handling and shooting skills, while not worrying about skating! Beginners welcome. The focus will be on proper technique in a stationbased program that always ends with a hockey game.

Organized and ran by a local minor hockey certified coach. Ball hockey and equipment will be provided. Parent / Guardian participation is encouraged.

Aloha Fit

Ages 7-15

Aloha Fit for school aged children is a new, fun and effective total body dance workout. Based on Polynesian dance techniques, Aloha Fit combines Hawaiian and Tahitian dance movements with fitness techniques. Dance and sweat to a lively musical mix of traditional Polynesian music, drum beats, reggae, pop, and more, resulting in a fun and upbeat fitness workout!

Youth Weight Room Orientation

Ages 13-15

This orientation will provide youth with an introduction on how to safely use a recreation centre weight room. Content will include: weight room guidelines and etiquette; cardio and weight training guidelines; orientation and instruction on how to use basic cardio and strength training equipment. Upon completion of this orientation, participants will receive a sticker which permits access to weight rooms at the following facilities: SEAPARC, Panorama, Esquimalt, City of Victoria, Saanich, West Shore and Oak Bay.

Learn to Fish

Ages 5-15

Join the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC for a one 2 hour session and learn the basics of freshwater fishing. Topics include hatchery roles, fish identification, proper fish handling, tackle, rod rigging, casting, and an hour of hands-on fishing. Rapala rods are provided, program runs rain or shine.

Drum Workshop for Beginners Ages 13+

If you are an absolute beginner and are curious about modern drumming, this 2-hour workshop is for you. Learn basic drum rhythms and understand modern drumming from a world-class instructor.
