Research Associate Post for a Breast Cancer Related Project @ St. John’s Research Institute The St. John’s Research Institute (SJRI) is a part of the St John’s National Academy of Health Sciences, which is run by the CBCI Society for Medical Education. The Nadathur lab for breast cancer research in the Division of Molecular Medicine, SJRI has been involved in investigating the biological basis of those aspects of breast cancer that are exaggerated in Indian women. The division is now inviting applications for a post of Post-doctoral candidate for an extramural funded project. Job Title: Research Associate No. of Posts: 01 Location: Bangalore Department/Division: Division of Molecular Medicine Project Duration: Initially for a period of 6 Months, likely to be extended to up to 36 months based on performance assessment. Proposed Salary: Renumeration is as per the DBT- RA scale Brief Description of Project: Focus of the project is on premenopausal breast cancer to investigate the role of circulating sex steroids and their cognate nuclear receptors in breast cancer progression. Work in the project involves molecular biology experiments involving human tumor samples and cell lines, collation, and analysis of data. Minimum Qualification Required: PhD in any branch of life sciences preferably with oncology background and knowledge in cancer genomics. Key Skills: Familiarity with theory of molecular biology experiments specifically with handling of biological samples and analytical methods. The candidates must be self-motivated, able to multi-task and work within a very collaborative environment.
