The Nadathur lab for breast cancer research in the Division of Molecular Medicine, SJRI has been involved in investigating the biological basis of those aspects of breast cancer that are exaggerated in Indian women. The division is now inviting applications for a post of Research Assistant. Job Title: Research Assistant No. of Posts: 01 Location: Bangalore Project Name and Project ID: Examination of molecular mechanisms of chemoresistance and metastasis in multiple cancer subtypes Project Head: Dr. Madhumathy G Nair Department/Division: Division of Molecular Medicine – Nadathur Lab for Breast Cancer Research Project Duration: 12 Months, likely to be extended based on performance assessment. Proposed Salary: Rs 20,000 per month Brief Description of Project: Cancer research and molecular biology-based experiments involving human tumor samples and cancer cell lines, collation and analysis of data. Outcome of the project is likely to expand further research into therapeutic resistance in breast cancer patients. Minimum Qualification Required: B.Tech or M.Sc in any branch of Life Science. 1-2 years research experience post M.Sc/B.Tech is desirable. Freshers with a good scientific aptitude are also encouraged to apply. Key Skills: Familiarity with theory of molecular biology experiments specifically with handling of biological samples and analytical methods. The candidates must be self-motivated, able to multi-task and work within a very collaborative environment. Core Responsibilities: To assist in all laboratory experiments related to animal cell culture, collection of blood and processing.
