Advertisement for Junior Research Fellow position under SERB funded research project at the School of Mechanical Sciences Applications are invited for the position of Junior Research Fellow under the Project titled “Machine learning based algorithm for predicting three-dimensional fractal structure of aggregated nanoparticles from microscopy-based images and application in characterization of ultrafine particulate matter”, at the School of Mechanical Sciences, IIT Goa. The project is sponsored by Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) in the frame work of Start-up Research Grant (Project No. 2020/EMR/TT/018). The research fellow will be working on developing algorithms for predicting three-dimensional structures from microscopyNature of work based images, for characterizing particulate matter. There will be an experimental component as well, for collecting particulate matter from various combustion sources. No. of Position One Duration of For a period of 1 year. It may be further extended based on appointment the performance of the candidate and availability of funding. Essential qualification: -M.E/M.Tech in Mechanical engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environment Engineering and other allied branch. -Exceptional candidates with B.E/B. Tech from the same Eligibility branches may also be considered - Candidate with B.E/B. Tech/M. Tech must have a valid GATE score Desirable: -Candidate with experience in scientific computing will be given preference. -Experience on topics related to particulate matter would be beneficial. Salary Rs. 31,000/- (as per norms) DA Not be entitled to DA. HRA 16% (as per the Govt. norms stationed at Goa) Medical Benefits As per the norms. Leave Casual leave of 8 days per annum.
