The major objectives of the iEAST are to conduct cutting edge applied and translational research, and facilitate benefits of innovation to empower people and industries. The key thrust is to develop solutions for the problems of today and work ahead for the requirements of the future. Applications are invited for the following positions:
Director The Director is expected to be highly motivated and provide dynamic leadership to the growth and development of iEAST. The applicant must have a vision and plans for addressing the large-scale societal and industrial problems through interdisciplinary research to transform ideas into reality. Qualifications and Education Requirements: M.D/Ph.D or equivalent degree in biomedical/engineering field. Minimum 12 years of research experience after Ph.D. Track record of high impact publications.
Principal Scientist (Neuroscience) The candidate is expected to develop innovative diagnostic and therapeutic approaches for the neuronal diseases. Contribute both intellectually and experimentally from inception through preclinical and clinical development. Shall be responsible for leading and nurturing the core team and fostering collaborations. Qualifications and Education Requirements: M.D/Ph.D or equivalent degree in biomedical/bioengineering field. Minimum 4 years as an Assistant Professor or 1 year as an Associate Professor or equivalent. Minimum 7 years of research experience in neuroscience after Ph.D. Track record of high impact publications.
Staff Scientist (Plant Sciences) Seeking a plant scientist to join a team of scientists, farmers, and engineers to develop processes, specifications, and tools to generate high-yielding disease resistant plants and pioneering production methods. Qualifications and Education Requirements: Ph.D. in plant sciences or Master’s degree with 3 years of laboratory experience in plant sciences in academic or biotechnology settings. Experience with plant tissue culture and protoplast. Practical knowledge of any of the following: plant propagation, production management, plantmicrobe interactions, plant hybridization, soilless culture, controlled environment agriculture, integrated pest management, entomology and post-harvest processing.
Research Officer (Plant Sciences) The candidate is expected to join a team of scientists, pioneering a transformative delivery platform for a broad range of sustainable agricultural applications. Qualifications and Education Requirements: Master’s degree in Botany/Biotechnology or related discipline. 2 years of relevant laboratory experience in academic or biotechnology settings. Experience with plant tissue culture/micro-propagation.
Research Officer (Microbiology) The candidate is expected to participate in developing the innovative bio-pesticides, bio-fertilizers, enzymes and other microbial products. Master’s degree in Microbiology/Biotechnology or related discipline. 2 years of relevant laboratory experience, in academic or biotechnology settings. Experience with microbial culture/fermentation.
