No. CDFD/EMPC/5/October’20 CDFD, an autonomous institute of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, invites applications from Indian nationals for following purely temporary vacancies in research project titled “Identification and characterization of genetic lesions causing Lynch Syndrome in India” funded by ICMR and research project titled “Understanding the role of Chorismate Mutase in Mycobacterial Virulence” funded by CSIR. CDFD wishes to fill up the following posts in the above projects.

The description of the positions and the Essential & Desirable qualifications for various vacancies are as follows: 1) SENIOR TECHNICAL ASSISTANT: Upper Age Limit (only for fresh recruits): 30 years Consolidated Emoluments:

32,000/- p.m.

Essential qualifications: M.Sc degree in any branch of life sciences.

OR B.Sc. in any branch of life sciences from a recognised university with 5 years of work experience in recognized Institution Desirable qualifications: Experience with routine molecular biology experiments including DNA / RNA isolation, cloning, and regular and quantitative PCR; Cell Culture; H&E staining and immunohistochemistry.

2) PROJECT – JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOW: Upper Age Limit (only for fresh recruits): 28 years Emoluments:

31,000/- + HRA p.m.

Essential qualifications: The minimum qualifications are BS 4 years programme/BPharm/MBBS/ Integrated BS-MS/M.Sc./BE/B.Tech or equivalent degree, with 55% marks and passing of NET under i) JRF and ii) Lecturership categories/GATE test. The selection for award of JRF is made on the basis of a competitive written test organised jointly by CSIR and UGC at National Level.

GENERAL CONDITIONS The general conditions governing the Advertisement No. CDFD/EMPC/5/October’ 20 are as follows: 1. Mere fulfilling minimum qualification will not entitle a candidate for being called for test / interview.

All these positions are purely temporary and coterminus with the project and are initially for a maximum of one year.

5. Selection against these positions will not make the candidates with Master’s Degree, eligible to register for the Ph.D. degree.

6. Any of the selected individuals may from time to time be assigned to perform any other duties commensurate with their qualifications, by the Director, CDFD. 7.
