VACANCY NOTICE ONE Research Associate (RA) and ONE Senior Research Fellow (SRF) positions are available in the labs of Dr. Shireesh Srivastava and Dr. Syed Shams Yazdani in the DBT-BBSRC sponsored project “REDUCING INDUSTRIAL WASTE FROM SUGARCANE PROCESSING IN INDIA�.

Please note that these are temporary project positions whose duration is only for the tenure of the DBT-funded project. The positions are available initially for one year with annual extensions up to three years based on performance and achieving objectives. The salary will be as per DBT norms, based on qualification and experience.

Closing date for applications: 19th Aug 2018 RA: Flux Analysis (ONE position) PI: Dr. Shireesh Srivastava Job description: The selected candidate will be conducting flux analysis of genome scale metabolic models of fungi, including A. oryzae as well as transcriptomics/ proteomics

investigation

of

the

fungus

to

identify

targets

for

metabolite

overproduction. The candidate will also be responsible for preparing detailed technical reports summarizing the result and for timely submission of these reports.

Qualifications: Ph.D. in Engineering, Biotechnology, Life Sciences or other related field with experience in conducting flux balance analyses of genome scale metabolic models and other related methods.

Desirable qualifications: Previous experience of FBA of fungal metabolism.

Advanced integrative modeling of metabolism with transcriptomics/ proteomics data and flux analysis.

SRF: Enzyme engineering (ONE position) PI: Dr. Syed Shams Yazdani Job description: Characterization of fungal lignocellulose-active enzymes, improving activity through mutagenesis and engineering in fungi and bacteria, helping with fermentations and proteomics analyses.

Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Engineering, Biotechnology, Life Sciences or other related field with experience in cloning, expression and fermentation.

Desirable qualifications: Previous experience of fungal engineering and adaptation to improve protein production.
