No. WII/SPG/KWS/2018 W A L K – I N – I N T E R V I E W for engaging Senior Project Biologist and Senior Project Ecologists on Contract The Wildlife Institute of India, Dehra Dun invites application for Walk-in-interview for engaging Senior Project Biologist and Senior Project Ecologists for the Consultancy Project entitled “Study on Blackbuck movements in and around kaimur Wildlife Sanctuary including Reserved Forests of Mirzapur and Sonbhadra districts of Uttar Pradesh in respect of proposal coal based Thermal Power” purely on contractual basis for a period of six months. The EQ, DQ and other details of the Senior Project Biologist and Senior Project Ecologists are as provided below: 1

Senior Project Ecologists (Three positions) Masters’ Degree in Life Sciences/Wildlife Sciences/Forestry/Remote Sensing from a recognized university and should have two years’ experience in Wildlife Survey, occupancy, population estimation, habitat quantification using different approaches, knowledge of GIS, Data analysis, report writing.

Preference will be given to candidates having working experience in wildlife assessment and Survey.

Description of Work

Required to visit areas of Uttar Pradesh for data and samples collection and undertake required analysis

Engagement Position

Senior Project Biologist (One position)

Essential Qualification (EQ)

Masters’ Degree in Life Sciences/Wildlife Sciences/ Forestry/Biotechnology/Animal Genetics from a recognized University and should have two years’ experience in DNA related techniques in identifying species and other genetic parameters from faecal matter, collection of samples, Wildlife Survey, knowledge of GIS, Data analysis, report writing.

Preference will be given to candidates having lab experience of two years in knowledge in DNA extraction, PCR amplification, electrophoresis and genetic data analysis Required to visit areas of Uttar Pradesh for data and samples collection and undertake required analysis

Age relaxation: The upper age limit may be relaxed up to 5 years as per Government of India rules.

Emoluments

Rs. 40,000 (Consolidated) per month

Terms of References

The fellowship tenure will be governed by the Institute’s rules and regulations

General Conditions 1. The candidate should report by 0930 hrs for scrutiny of documents on 19th July, 2018 followed by an Interview on the same day at 1100 hrs. The Institute will not provide accommodation for candidates appearing for the interview.

2. Candidates should bring the duly filled-in application with attested true copies of testimonials of educational qualifications research experience, along with certificate of extracurricular activities, date of birth, mark sheets of all examinations etc. All original documents/certificates must be produced at the time of registration for necessary verification.

3. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
