Walk-in-in Interview for the Junior Research Fellow (JRF) Applications are invited for the purely temporary post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under the research project titled “Status, distribution patterns and habitat modeling of Nicobar Megapode Megapodius nicobariensis Blyth, 1846: An impact assessment after fifteen years of the tsunami 2004” sponsored by Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, at Andaman and Nicobar Regional Centre, Zoological Survey of India, Port Blair-744 102, Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

Educational Qualification M.Sc. degree in Wildlife Biology/Zoology/Environmental Sciences with a minimum of 60% aggregate mark from a recognized University

Desirable Qualification Research experience in bird studies

Remuneration Rs.31,000/- + HRA as per rules

General Instructions: 1. The last Date for submission of the completely filled application form is 15th January 2021 2. The position is for period of three years and purely on temporary basis and will be terminated on completion of the assignment. 3. The upper age limit for applying for JRF is 28 years as on 31st January 2021. The age limit may be relaxed for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC-Non Creamy Layer (NCL)/Women/ Physically Challenged applicants as per Government of India rules. 4. Interested candidates may submit the duly filled-in applications with attested true copies of testimonials of educational qualifications, research experience, proof for date of birth etc., along with copies of mark sheets of all examinations and ‘No Objection Certificate’ from present employer (if employed) to The Officer-in-Charge, Zoological Survey of India, Andaman and Nicobar Regional Centre, Haddo, Port Blair-744 102, Andaman & Nicobar Islands (Email: anrszsi@gmail.com / anrc@zsi.gov.in). 5. At the time of the verification of original documents (even after selection), if it is found that an attempt has been made by the applicant to wilfully conceal, misrepresent or canvass the facts, such applicant will not be considered for selection and due action will be implemented. 6. Candidate will be shortlisted on the basis of their qualification and experience. Short listed candidates will be informed through email and speed post for appearing before an interview committee. 7. The selected candidates are expected to undertake extensive field surveys in Nicobar group of islands and required to stay longer period in Great Nicobar Island. Also required to travel Headquarters, Regional Centres of ZSI and will have to join immediately after their selection. 8. The Director, Zoological Survey of India reserves the right to reject any candidature in view of incomplete information provided by the candidate or for any other reason.
