Applications are invited from Indian nationals for the following position in Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Govt. of India funded extramural research project titled “Diversity pattern, range size distribution and trait composition of butterflies along elevation gradients in the Sikkim Himalaya� sanctioned to the Department of Zoology, Sikkim University.

Qualifications

Desirable

First class Masters Experience of Degree in Zoology/ working on Life Sciences/ biodiversity in Environmental mountain Science/ environment, Environmental working knowledge management or on GIS, ecological allied disciplines modelling, etc. with NET Field based positions in the project sites in remote areas in Intermediate Sikkim. Candidates (10+2) preferably in with basic science knowledge on biodiversity and familiarity with landscape will be given preference

Remarks

Non-NET candidates can apply and will be considered as Junior Project Fellow (JPF)

Educational qualifications may be relaxed for candidates with prior experience in assisting in the field studies and knowledge on biodiversity of the region

Fellowship: Fellowship will be paid as per the norms of the funding agency.

Duration: Initially for one year but extendable upto three years or up to the termination of project whichever is earlier, subject to annual performance review. The position is purely

temporary and co-terminus with the project.
