A Message From Our CEO
Dear W. W. Gay Family,
As the year winds to a close, it’s impossible not to feel the energy and spirit of the holidays in the air. This time of year always provides a moment to reflect, celebrate, and look forward to the future with optimism.
At W. W. Gay, this has been an extraordinary year of growth, achievement, and a shared commitment to excellence that has defined 2024.
This year, we accomplished incredible milestones together. From overcoming challenges with creativity and determination to delivering exceptional results for our customers, your dedication has been the driving force behind our success. Every project completed and every milestone reached is a testament to your hard work and the passion you bring to your craft.
One of the greatest joys of leadership is seeing our team members grow and take on new opportunities. This year, we celebrated several well-deserved promotions that are helping guide our company into exciting new directions.
Ronnie Creel, for instance, is stepping outside of his comfort zone to lead us into Georgia by opening our new Savannah office. As Director of Georgia Operations, Ronnie’s decades of dedication and leadership within W. W. Gay make him the ideal person to establish and grow our presence in this new market. Similarly, Kevin Williams is stepping into the role of Central Florida Service Manager, where he is spearheading all service operations across the region. Their vision, expertise, and commitment to excellence inspire us all.
“Our people are the heart and soul of this company, and your passion extends far beyond our projects.”
At W. W. Gay, we live by our mission: to provide the best service, at the best value, with the best people — every time. This mission is underpinned by our core values of Dedication, Quality, and Stewardship. Dedication reflects our commitment to our people, our craft, and our customers. Quality is the hallmark of everything we do, ensuring that we deliver exceptional results on every project. Stewardship embodies our responsibility to care for the communities we serve, the resources we use, and the relationships we build. These values are the foundation of who we are and what sets us apart as a company.
Looking ahead, we are entering one of the most exciting times in our company’s history.
The path for growth is bright, with new opportunities on the horizon for our people, our community, and our customers. Together, we are building a future that is not only ambitious but deeply rooted in our values.
Our people are the heart and soul of this company, and your passion extends far beyond our projects. Your involvement in our community is inspiring and shows the true spirit of W. W. Gay. Whether it’s through volunteering, supporting local initiatives, or simply bringing your best self to work each day, you are the foundation of our success.
As we close out 2024 and prepare for a promising 2025, let’s continue to celebrate what we’ve accomplished together while keeping an eye on the future. Thank you for your unwavering commitment, your hard work, and your passion. Together, we are creating something truly extraordinary.
Wishing you and your loved ones a joyful Christmas holiday and a prosperous New Year.
Thank you for always being the Best in the Business!

HR Update
Hello Team,
W. W. Gay is excited to announce updates to our Paid Time Off (PTO) policy, designed to provide employees with greater flexibility and support in balancing work and life. This revised policy, effective January 1, 2025, simplifies leave benefits by combining vacation, personal, and sick leave into one comprehensive program for all employees not covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
Key Highlights:
Eligibility and Accrual:
Full-time employees begin accruing PTO immediately upon hire, though PTO cannot be used until after 60 days of employment.
Accrual Rates by Service:
0–2 years: 10 days/year
3–9 years: 15 days/year
10–19 years: 20 days/year
20+ years: 25 days/year
Usage Guidelines: PTO can be used for vacations, personal or family sick leave, family activities, and additional holiday time. Employees should request foreseeable PTO in advance, using the company PTO form, and approval will depend on workload considerations.
Yearly Reset: PTO does not roll over into the next year and must be used within the calendar year.
Important Notes for First-Year Employees:
Only 5 PTO days may be used in the first six months of employment.
Employees hired after June 30th will accrue a maximum of 5 days for that year.
New Policy at a Glance:
The updated PTO policy underscores our commitment to supporting our team’s wellbeing while ensuring seamless operations. If you have questions or need clarification, please contact the HR Department.
We encourage all employees to take advantage of this improved policy to rest, recharge, and maintain a healthy work-life balance. Remember, your time away from work is just as valuable as the time you dedicate to it.
Thank you for your continued dedication to our shared success.
Chrissy Graham Director, Human Resources
Accounting Update
Hello Team,
As we approach the end of the year, I’d like to share some important reminders and upcoming deadlines:
Deadline for 2024 Job Activity
The last day to record any activity on jobs for 2024 is January 10, 2025. This includes both costs and billings, as well as opening or closing jobs for the year.
To ensure a smooth year-end process, please:
1. Make sure all billings are current.
2. For completed jobs, release retention and clear any open commitments.
3. Mark jobs as “inactive” when they are ready to close so Accounting can finalize them.
4. Review “Active” closing list sent out by Gordon Brigance and notify him of any jobs that should remain open into 2025.
Wells Fargo Credit Card Coding
With the new Wells Fargo credit card program, it’s essential to input costs promptly to reflect accurate job costs and enable timely billing to customers. As the year concludes, please ensure all 2024 transactions are coded and receipts are uploaded in your credit card portal as soon as possible.
For any credit card-related questions or inquiries, email creditcard@wwgmc.com.
Multiple team members monitor this address to provide quick responses—there’s no need to contact anyone directly.
Thank you for your attention to these matters, and as we close out the year, I want to wish you and your families a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
All the Best,
Gordon Brigance Assistant Controller

AIMAD DARMOUCH
Orlando
Serving as Foreman out of Orlando, Aimad Darmouch is a wonderful asset to our team, known for his quality of work and attention to detail. Aimad moved to the States from Morocco, where he grew up inspired by his father’s work in the construction industry. Drawn to the idea of building something from the ground up, Aimad moved to the United States to pursue the American dream. His first professional and stable career opportunity in the U.S. came from W. W. Gay, where he started as a pre-apprentice. Through hard work and determination, Aimad worked his way up to his current leadership role as a Foreman.
Aimad’s passion for construction began in childhood, watching his father work in the field. He enjoyed using his hands and took pride in seeing projects come to life, sparking a lifelong interest in the industry. Since joining W. W. Gay six years ago, Aimad has made significant strides both professionally and personally.
As a Foreman, Aimad oversees daily operations, assigns tasks, and ensures projects remain on schedule. Known for his reliability and honesty, Aimad emphasizes strong leadership and organizational skills, which he has honed throughout his career. For him, the camaraderie and teamwork at W. W. Gay are what he enjoys most. Collaborating with his team and building together serve as his greatest motivators.
Some of Aimad’s most challenging yet rewarding experiences have been working on hospital projects. These jobs often require late-night hours and precise scheduling to avoid interrupting hospital functionality. Aimad’s ability to navigate these complexities with skill and professionalism has been instrumental to his success. Aimad attributes his achievements to strong communication and organizational skills.
Working around patients and strict hospital schedules is no easy task. To overcome these challenges, Aimad exaggerates the importance of adapting and planning to ensure that his team delivers high-quality work without disruptions. Since joining W. W. Gay, Aimad has always gone the extra mile to ensure job success.
Receiving the Forging the Way Award is a significant honor for Aimad. It represents the recognition of his hard work and the impact he has made on the company. “I take pride that people appreciate my work,” Aimad shared, reflecting on the award. Aimad’s journey with W. W. Gay is a testament to the power of perseverance, passion, and teamwork.

We are thrilled to honor Bobby Crawford, General Superintendent out of Jacksonville, as a recipient of the Forging the Way Award. Bobby’s unwavering dedication, work ethic, and leadership embody the values that make W.W. Gay a cornerstone in our industry.
Bobby’s career with W.W. Gay began right after high school, thanks to the influence of a friend’s father who introduced him to the company. Growing up in McKlinney, Bobby was always drawn to hands-on work, spending his youth outdoors and honing the skills that would later define his career. After a month as a pre-apprentice, he entered a five-year apprenticeship program, setting the foundation for a remarkable 25-year tenure.
From his first 12 years on a service truck, to his current position as General Superintendent overseeing projects at Baptist, St. Vincent’s, Orange Park, Shands UF North, and Mayo, Bobby has continuously expanded his expertise. For the past four years, he has been a vital leader in the healthcare department, ensuring projects run smoothly and efficiently.
When asked what he enjoys most about his work, Bobby’s answer “The people.” Known for his exceptional communication skills, Bobby builds strong relationships with both customers and colleagues. He treats everyone with respect, leading by example and fostering a team-oriented environment.
His commitment to quality and attention to detail is unmatched. Bobby’s philosophy is clear: “We are not in the business of halfway work.” This mindset drives him to deliver exceptional results on every project, a standard he shares with the younger generation of apprentices he mentors.
Bobby’s role isn’t without its challenges. From navigating the complexities of working in healthcare facilities, such as scheduling and working around patients, to overcoming the unique hurdles of the COVID-19 pandemic, Bobby has shown resilience and adaptability. FRANK BRABHAM
Gainesville
With an extraordinary 42-year career, Frank Brabham out of our Gainesville office stands as a shining example of hard work, and resilience, and a mentor, passing knowledge to future generations. Frank’s journey with W. W. Gay began in 1981, just after graduating high school. Inspired by his father, an electrician, Frank took his first step into the industry as a laborer at the University of Florida’s animal science vet school. This foundational role marked the beginning of a lifelong partnership with the company.
He soon embraced an HVAC service apprenticeship in Gainesville, drawn by a natural aptitude for mechanical systems and a love for working with his hands. Over four decades later, Frank continues to embody the company’s values, describing W. W. Gay as more than a workplace but a family that gives him purpose and pride.
As an HVAC Service Technician, Frank’s day-to-day responsibilities range from troubleshooting advanced systems to mentoring apprentices, he thrives in the challenge of diagnosing and repairing increasingly complex commercial equipment. Frank’s knowledge of electrical systems and hydronic equipment has been crucial to his success. Known for his “gift” of identifying problems within hydronic systems.
One of his most memorable projects involved replacing a large unit that served hospital operating rooms. Timing is critical when it comes to working in hospitals and Frank and his team installed temporary units to ensure the hospital’s critical functions remain uninterrupted. He acknowledges the challenges of adapting to computer-driven equipment and the fast pace of technological change in the industry, but his commitment to continuous learning has helped him stay ahead.
Frank has found joy in sharing his knowledge with younger colleagues. His role as a mentor allows him to impart lessons learned through decades of experience, emphasizing the importance of quality workmanship, integrity, and adaptability to ever-evolving technologies. “Teaching young people is one of the most rewarding parts of my job,” Frank shares. “It’s about ensuring that the knowledge I’ve gained doesn’t stop with me but continues to benefit the next generation.”
Frank credits his success to timeless principles: quality, integrity, and accountability. “Being a man of your word and standing behind your work not only builds trust but also makes the job easier,” he says. Receiving the Forging the Way Award holds deep meaning for Frank. “It’s humbling to know that people notice and care,” he says.
Outside of work, Frank enjoys fishing and is actively involved in his church, keeping faith at the center of his life. He believes his career is not just what he does but who he is—a calling that has shaped his identity and impacted those around him.
Congratulations to Frank Brabham for this well-deserved honor, and thank you for your decades of service, mentorship, and dedication to excellence!
In My Own Words...
Proudest Moment
During a project involving a refrigerated warehouse, where we handled all the refrigeration work, I had the chance to collaborate with a young and promising Project Manager. As the project wrapped up, he asked if I’d be interested in meeting his sister. Little did I know that moment would change my life forever. That introduction led to Tonya, my beautiful wife, and we’ve now been happily married for 23 years. If it weren’t for that job and that project, I might never have met her, and my life would have been completely different.
What Motivates You
At this stage in my career I am excited to see our young people succeed, and watch their talents grow and watch them advance in this company into management and other positions.

Orlando
Dalton Stephens, one of Gainesville’s Assistant Project Managers, brings a unique perspective to his role, having transitioned from a career in healthcare administration to the dynamic world of construction project management.
Before joining W. W. Gay, Dalton’s professional journey was centered on healthcare, where he managed diagnostic imaging processes. A conversation with his friend and our Business Unit leader, Tim Pavlisko, about an opening at W. W. Gay sparked Dalton’s interest in a career shift. Eager for growth and new challenges, he seized the opportunity, discovering a chance to apply his organizational and problem-solving expertise in a completely different industry.
Growing up in Jacksonville, Dalton was already familiar with W. W. Gay’s esteemed reputation. What ultimately drew him to the company was the thrill of tackling complex problems, the satisfaction of executing plans, and the opportunity for continuous learning.
In just seven months at W. W. Gay, Dalton has already made a notable impact. He is currently contributing to the Ascend Advanced Therapy project in Alachua, where he leverages his healthcare experience in a construction context. His responsibilities include managing operations, coordinating with field teams, project managers, and business leaders.
The shift from healthcare to construction has been an invigorating change for Dalton, keeping him engaged and constantly on his toes.
Since joining the team, Dalton has embraced the steep learning curve with enthusiasm. “Project execution in construction is completely different from healthcare administration,” he explains. The role demands precision, meticulous attention to detail, and a deep understanding of new systems and processes—all of which Dalton has tackled with determination.
“It’s hard to find a company this large that genuinely cares about its employees as much as W. W. Gay”
Dalton’s favorite part about his job is the company’s employee-first culture. “It’s hard to find a company this large that genuinely cares about its employees as much as W. W. Gay,” he notes.
Outside of work, Dalton channels his energy into his passion for racing and motorsports. A go-kart and NASCAR enthusiast since the age of 12, he continues to enjoy the excitement and camaraderie that come with the sport.

Safety Corner
FROM YOUR DIRECTOR OF SAFETY
From Christmas to New Years, when our families gather, parties are scheduled and travel time starts, safety should be on everyone’s mind.
Holiday and Everyday Safety Tips
Travel Safely:
Prepare your car for winter and keep an emergency kit on hand.
Avoid drowsy driving by ensuring a good night’s sleep before departing.
Plan ahead for heavy traffic by leaving early.
Ensure that everyone in the vehicle is properly buckled up, regardless of the trip’s length.
Put your cellphone away while driving.
Cellphones are one of the main distractions behind the wheel.
Practice defensive driving.
Alcohol, as well as over-the-counter, prescription, and illegal drugs, can impair your ability to drive. Designate a sober driver to ensure everyone gets home safely after a holiday party.
Decorate Safely:
Keep potentially poisonous plants, such as mistletoe and holly berries, out of children’s reach.
If using an artificial tree, ensure it is labeled “fire resistant.”
For live trees, cut off about 2 inches from the trunk to expose fresh wood for better water absorption. Water the tree regularly and remove it from your home when it becomes dry.
Place trees at least 3 feet away from fireplaces and other heat sources, and ensure they do not block doorways.
Avoid placing breakable ornaments or those with small, detachable parts on lower branches where children can reach them.
Use indoor lights indoors and outdoor lights outdoors. Choose the right ladder for hanging lights.
Replace light sets with broken or cracked sockets, frayed or bare wires, or loose connections.
Follow packaging directions for the number of light sets that can be plugged into one socket.
Avoid nailing, tacking, or stressing light wiring, and keep plugs off the ground and away from puddles (water).
Turn off all lights and decorations before bed or when leaving the house.
Candle and Fireplace Safety:
Place candles where they cannot be knocked over or blown out, and keep them out of children’s reach.
Keep matches and lighters up high and out of reach of children (in a locked cabinet).
Use flameless, rather than lighted, candles near flammable objects.
Never burn trees, wreaths, or wrapping paper in the fireplace.
Always use a screen in front of the fireplace when it’s in use.
Never leave candles or fireplaces burning unattended or while sleeping.
Check and clean your chimney and fireplace area at least once a year.
Food Poisoning Prevention: Wash your hands frequently when handling food.
Keep raw meat separate from fresh produce.
Use separate cutting boards, plates, and utensils for raw and cooked meats to avoid cross-contamination.
Use a food thermometer to ensure meat is cooked to a safe temperature.
Refrigerate hot or cold leftovers within two hours of serving.
When storing turkey, cut leftovers into small pieces for faster chilling.
Holiday leftovers are safe to eat for three to four days if properly refrigerated.
Giving Safely:
Remember, toy age ratings are for safety, not for children’s intellect or physical ability. Choose toys within the recommended age range.
For children under 3, avoid toys with small parts that could pose choking hazards.
For children under 10, avoid toys that must be plugged into an electrical outlet.
Be cautious with toys that have button batteries or magnets, as they can be harmful or fatal if swallowed.
When giving scooters or other riding toys, include appropriate safety gear such as helmets, which should always be worn and properly sized.
The Safety Department wishes everyone a Merry Christmas & New Year!!
As always, we are always available to all employees. If you have any questions or safety-related concerns, please reach out.
Thank you and stay well,
Steve Ray Director of Safety
