Puerto de Las Nieves is a typically Canarian picturesque fishing neighbourhood, next to the equally beautiful town of Agaete. There is a superb range of commercial and restaurant establishments, along with beaches with crystal clear waters. The Paseo de los Poetas is one of its main attractions: a long avenue, packed with fresh fish and seafood restaurants. At nightfall the views are truly amazing, over Tenerife and its Mount Teide in the background, as the sun sets and releases an array of beautiful tones over the Atlantic horizon. The hermitage of Las Nieves houses the Triptych of Las Nieves in a tiny room, a work of Flemish art by Joos van Cleve. Nearby is the Dedo de Dios, a basalt rock that rises up out of the ocean next to some stunning cliffs. 7. PUERTO DE LAS NIEVES ■ AGAETE JOYA DEL ARTE FLAMENCO El Puerto de Las Nieves es un pintoresco y bello barrio marinero, típico canario, junto a la hermosa Villa de Agaete. En él se concentra una amplia oferta gastronómica y comercial, además de contar con playas de aguas cristalinas. El Paseo de los Poetas es uno de sus lugares más destacados: una larga avenida, repleta de restaurantes de pescado fresco y marisco. Al atardecer las vistas son impresionantes, con Tenerife y su Teide de fondo mientras el sol cae y estalla en tonalidades sobre el horizonte atlántico. La Ermita de Las Nieves guarda en su pequeña sala el Tríptico de Las Nieves, una obra de arte flamenco de Joos van Cleve. Junto a este lugar, se contempla el Dedo de Dios, un roque de piedra basáltica que se alza sobre el océano frente a unos impresionantes acantilados. 8. Guayadeque Ravine is a natural gem shared by the municipalities of Ingenio and Agüimes, near to the beaches at the south of Gran Canaria. Under the palm groves visitors can find traces of the ancient inhabitants on the island. Along this deep ravine is the troglodyte settlement of Cueva Bermeja, together with welcoming restaurants dug out of the mountainside. The Visitors’ Centre is also a must see, as it provides an insight into the pre Hispanic age and the amazing natural wealth of flora and fauna in the ravine. Here we can find the Gran Canaria Giant Lizard (Gallotiastehlini), one of the largest in the world. 8. BARRANCO DE GUAYADEQUE ■ INGENIO - AGÜIMES EL MUNDO TROGLODITA El Barranco de Guayadeque es la joya natural que comparten los municipios de Ingenio y Agüimes, cerca las playas del sur de Gran Canaria. Bajo los palmerales del barranco puede encontrar la huella de los antiguos habitantes de la Isla. En este profundo barranco se localiza el poblado troglodita de Cueva Bermeja, así como acogedores restaurantes labrados en la roca de la montaña. Además, es visita obligada el Centro de Interpretación, que explica la época prehispánica y la sorprendente riqueza natural de la flora y fauna del barranco. Aquí podemos encontrar el Lagarto Gigante de Gran Canaria (Gallotiastehlini), uno de los mayores del mundo.

With a surface area of 325.7 hectares, the Natural Monument of Caldera de Bandama is made up of the stunning Peak (574 m altitude) and the Crater (220 m deep and 1000 m in diameter).
The town centre of Teror is one of the places with the strongest island sentiment, and is also a place of pilgrimage for the island’s inhabitants as the Basilica is home to the Virgin of El Pino, the Patron Saint of Gran Canaria.
The highlight of its interior is a unique archaeological settlement formed by a group of house caves and granary dug out of the rock, called the Cueva de los Canarios, with some important Berber inscriptions of mysterious meaning. The summit provides the finest panoramic views over Gran Canaria.
Teror’s beautiful Canarian architecture features houses with wooden balconies, and constitutes one of the leading cultural heritages in the Canaries, with buildings that date back to the 17th century. It is a town which oozes typical local products, including its chorizos and traditional sweets.

Con una superficie de 325,7 hectáreas, el Monumento Natural de la Caldera de Bandama está formado por el vistoso Pico (574 m de altitud) y la Caldera (220 m de profundidad y 1000 m de diámetro).
El casco de Teror es uno de los rincones de mayor sabor isleño y, también, lugar de peregrinación de los habitantes de la Isla al acoger en su Basílica a la Virgen del Pino, Patrona de Gran Canaria.
En su interior destaca un singular yacimiento arqueológico formado por un grupo de cuevas vivienda y granero excavadas en la roca, denominado la Cueva de los Canarios, con importantes inscripciones líbico-bereberes de misterioso significado. Desde la cima se pueden divisar las mejores panorámicas de Gran Canaria.
El Centro Histórico de Teror, con la bella arquitectura canaria de casas con balconada de tea labrada, constituye uno de los patrimonios culturales más importantes de Canarias, con edificaciones que se conservan desde el s. XVII. Un pueblo con sabor a productos típicos como sus chorizos o los dulces tradicionales.
