WHOLESALE & SPECIALTY INSURANCE ASSOCIATION

MESSAGE

FROM CARLTON MANER

During the last year, the WSIA Diversity Foundation has taken long, purposeful strides toward its goal to enhance and support a diverse, equitable and inclusive association and industry where all people feel welcome and valued. I continue to be personally proud of the Foundation’s work and hopeful for its impact on the wholesale, specialty and surplus lines industry.

The Diversity Foundation’s work is built on three pillars: student and talent outreach, inclusive culture resources for members and board and association governance initiatives. This three-pillar approach helps us advance the Foundation’s work in a way that is focused but provides support for member firms and individuals to help them progress in their DE&I journey from any starting point, at the pace that works for them.

I am confident that recruiting, retaining and embracing professionals from a wide range of perspectives and backgrounds builds positive workplace culture, and that ultimately makes teams more cohesive, more loyal and more productive. The Foundation’s work is making that goal a reality for WSIA member firms, and I am proud to be part of an industry that supports these initiatives with time, talent and financial resources. It is an honor to present this 2023 Annual Report with highlights of this work during the last year.
