A message from the WSIA PAC Committee Co-Chairs

Reflecting on the past year, it’s clear that 2023 was a remarkable chapter for the WSIA PAC, marked by significant growth and record-setting achievements. This success is a testament to the collective strength and dedication of our membership, and we extend our heartfelt gratitude to each one of you.

We are inspired by 2023’s accomplishments and look forward to meeting a new goal of $450,000 and reaching 1,000 contributors in 2024. This ambitious target reflects our unwavering commitment to strengthening our advocacy efforts and ensuring that our industry is well-positioned to navigate and influence the regulatory environment at both the federal and state levels.

Our strategic disbursements have been instrumental in not only bolstering our influence within Congress but also extending our reach into critical state legislatures. Our 2023 PAC disbursements will help ensure freedom from rate and form regulation in Florida, help reform tort litigation in Louisiana, permit personal broker fees

This expanded scope ensures that the essential role of the wholesale, specialty, and surplus lines industry is championed at every level of government. While we celebrate our achievements, we remain mindful of the complex political landscape that underscores the necessity of our continued engagement and support.

Thanks to the generosity of 886 contributors, we reached a new fundraising milestone. By the end of the year, we had surpassed our 2023 fundraising goal, reaching $424,392 in contributions. Member participation helped propel our PAC’s balance to an unprecedented level, reinforcing our shared commitment to advancing the interests of our industry and laying a solid foundation for future advocacy initiatives.

contributions have been crucial to our success. To our steadfast supporters, your continued commitment has laid the bedrock for our achievements. ABOUT the WSIA PAC

Since its inception in 2005, the WSIA PAC has been a key element of WSIA’s advocacy strategy. The PAC helps the association educate members of Congress about the importance and impact of the wholesale, specialty and surplus lines industry on the nation’s economy. The PAC offers an influential voice on the industry’s complex insurance issues and can also offer financial support to candidates whose goals are consistent with those of WSIA and its members.

Each year, the WSIA PAC recognizes two wholesale broker members and two insurance market members for top employee participants. In 2023, 516 employees of these member firms raised $294,112. Thanks to their outstanding leadership and encouragement for their colleagues to contribute, the WSIA PAC reached unprecedented success last year. They know that by investing in the PAC, they’re not just shaping policy; they’re securing their professional future.
