Jones Hall Renovation / Houston, Texas
Jones Hall, a beloved landmark worth preserving, was in need of a total restoration. In the summer of 2022, Bellows began a $50M four-phased renovation completed over summer breaks to avoid interrupting the Hall’s regular season.
Jones Hall’s iconic exterior remains intact, while the interior has been redesigned to enhance the concert-going experience. The new vertical aisles and dramatically improved acoustics were just the beginning. The acoustic enhancements now provide the best, most natural audio experience for any concert. New seats have been installed as well as a new orchestra shell, and the number of bathroom facilities was sizably increased. Additional changes include a reconfigured lobby and expansion of the greenroom. Restroom access has been improved, with a new, wider staircase that goes directly from the Louisiana Street lobby to the men’s and women’s lounges.
The overhauled backstage technical infrastructure included modernized stage automation control and fiber networks, allowing for state-of-the-art audio and visual capabilities for broadcasts, livestreams, and stage effects. ADA improvements to the entrance and auditorium have made the Hall more accessible and includes more seats for those in wheelchairs, improved cross-hall access, and more access points from Texas Avenue. The remainder of the updates will be completed this summer in time for Jones Hall’s 60th anniversary celebration (2026). This preservation project has transformed Jones Hall into a world-class venue for the Houston Symphony and for all of Houston to enjoy.

Project Profile
Glenwood Cemetery, Center for Glenwood / Houston, Texas
Tucked deep within the cemetery is Glenwood’s existing Victorian cottage which housed the administrative operations. While a treasured part of the campus, the building’s lack of adequate parking, suboptimal location, inability to expand, and issues within the facility brought the need for a new welcome and administrative center. The new Center for Glenwood enhances and expands day-to-day business and operations, preserves and showcases the historical architectural and horticultural assets of Glenwood, engages the community, and extends Glenwood’s relevance into the future. The Center also provides expanded and improved parking for families and visitors with ample overflow parking nearby.
The 14,394-SF building is organized around a central lobby and an outdoor terrace which separates public areas from administrative functions. This larger facility addresses the need for additional space for current and future staff as well as accommodates the scope of future business. Opposite the public space, support services are discreetly contained while still easily accessible for the staff. Beyond the administrative space, the Center provides dedicated space for Glenwood’s many archival treasures which can be accessed for research and educational purposes. This results in wider appreciation, study, and impact of Glenwood’s assets.
Taking advantage of the site’s unique terrain, the building is situated on the banks of a small ravine offering sweeping views across the cemetery. A new assembly space allows Glenwood to host gatherings and other functions. This multi-use area provides a much-needed space for families to gather.
The new Center addresses the growing needs of Glenwood as well as preserves and showcases the historical, architectural, and horticultural assets of the cemetery. This multi-purpose facility allows Glenwood to better serve families, conduct business, and have the capacity to share all that the cemetery has to offer with the city. St. Luke’s United Methodist Church Gethsemane Campus, The Garden / Houston, Texas
Ever since St. Luke’s merged with Gethsemane UMC in 2009, the Church has made it their mission to be an epicenter of hope for its under-served community. The Garden Community Youth Center is a 54,335-SF community center serving youth aged 11 - 24 and offers a variety of programs and activities not typically covered in school curricula, including practical life skills, financial literacy, and recreational activities. The Garden provides operating spaces for partnerships and programs plus a safe, secure space where youth can gather and foster a stronger community. The Center houses Legacy Health Care, a client-centered health services clinic; Houston reVision, a ministry dedicated to breaking the cycle of isolation for at-risk youth; Connect Community, a social services networking organization; and the PX Project, which utilizes a commercial kitchen and working cafe in a unique workforce development program. Even though it’s on the campus of a church, The Garden is open to all faiths or no faiths and shows kindness and compassion to everyone. Architect: Jackson Ryan

Project Profile
St. Agnes Academy Administrative Wing Renovation / Houston, Texas
St. Agnes Academy is intentional about providing their students and staff with an exceptional academic program in a transformational setting. The most recent space to receive attention was the Administrative Wing located in the main campus building originally constructed in 1963. The Wing serves as a location for offices, library, classrooms, restrooms, a small staff kitchen, and conference rooms.
This 94,000-SF project consisted of renovating the existing student, staff and public restrooms to become handicap/ADA accessible; the addition of an exterior handicap accessible ramp that called for replacement of concrete steps and porch with new entry; installation of new cabinets, fixtures and insulated glass windows; replacement of air handling units; installation of new sprinkler and fire alarm systems; and upgraded interior finishes to the floors, walls, ceilings, and lighting. The existing terrazzo floors and brick walls remained and were protected throughout construction. Additionally, all aspects of the Wing were brought up to current handicap code compliance.
Answering the school’s need for a refresh and update, this project provides an aesthetically pleasing environment and allows for a better workflow.

Office Building III & Surface Lot
This project is comprised of an 85,092-SF office building and two elevated circulation bridges that will connect to Office Buildings I and II, previously built by Bellows.
EOG’s third building at their Midland campus will be similar to the second building, and it will provide more office space to support the growth of their operational footprint throughout the Delaware Basin. Groundbreaking for the office building took place on September 3, 2025, along with the ribbon cutting of their new surface lot. Completion is slated for 2027.

La Porte New City Hall
The groundbreaking ceremony for the New City Hall took place on March 10, 2025, and the site has been bustling ever since! Roof installation and interior framing are complete. Ongoing work includes interior wall covering, stone facade installation, waterproofing, MEP work, thermal insulation, and parking lot stabilization. Curtainwall, windows, paving, and permanent power are up next.
La Porte’s new City Hall will open in October 2026 and features flexible meeting rooms, a one-stop shop for permitting, and a welcoming public plaza and park. This modern and accessible facility is designed to better serve the community of La Porte.
The new facility is replacing the existing 1978 structure. La Porte’s vision included the consolidation of all departments with daily public interaction (Planning, Fire Marshal, Utility Billing, Finance, City Staff, and City Council Chambers) into a single, efficient ground-level facility.
The second floor is designed to encourage and support team synergy through the addition of a large multi-purpose conference and training room, and centralized employee break room. These communal spaces cultivate a positive environment.
Security and accessibility are key components of the building and BRW applied that consideration into the design. Public access to the second floor is restricted and managed by staff escort. The Mayor and City Manager’s suite is prominently positioned at the elevator arrival point, with adjacent office suites for Human Resources, Information Technology, and the City Secretary.
City Hall’s dynamic design is complemented by enduring construction. This new chapter for La Porte reinforces the city’s commitment to its citizens by streamlining operations, improving public service, and fostering a more connected workplace.

MacGregor Park Renovation
MacGregor Park has served as a public gathering and recreational space for generations of Houstonians for nearly a century. This transformational project is in response to the community’s need for a revitalized green space where neighbors, active recreation, ecology, and civic life coexist.
The project includes the renovation of The Homer Ford Tennis Center, the pool building and pool; the community fitness center; a new all-abilities, ADA-accessible playground; and landscape enhancements to the park and the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Plaza. One of the most anticipated aspects of the project is improvements planned for the park’s 1.25-mile perimeter trail which will further enhance connectivity to the Brays Bayou Greenway Trail.
Once complete, the MacGregor Park renovation will blend respect for history with a forwardlooking vision, transforming a beloved Houston landmark into a renewed civic asset. This project reflects the power of thoughtful stewardship and investment in spaces through publicprivate partnerships that enrich the fabric of our city. Architect: TLA

Tommy Kubin Retires with 43 Years of Service
It’s hard to encompass Tommy’s impressive time spent at Bellows, but if you’ve met him, you know the level of enthusiasm, integrity, and talent he brings to everything he does. We asked Tommy a few parting questions and would like to share some of his best memories with you.
What broughtyou to BellowsConstruction?
From a young age, I always wanted to build things. Growing up, we’d spend Saturday mornings at the Bellows office with our dad, Charlie Kubin, retired Bellows Vice President. We’d watch him work, ask questions, and learn how things are built. I really enjoyed spending time at the office because it made me realize how close everyone was within the company and to this day, it still has that family atmosphere. When I was in college at UT (Hook ‘Em!), I thought it was really cool that the company my dad worked for built the UT Tower. After graduating in 1982, I started working at Bellows, and as they say, the rest is history!
What have been the most fulfilling aspects ofyour career andwhy?
I’m still, and will always be, proud to show mine and Bellows projects to family and friends. I was lucky to wear so many hats while working at Bellows and learned the most in the superintendent role.
What haveyou enjoyed most duringyour time at Bellows?
I am proud that my grandfather worked as a carpenter on the San Jacinto Monument and was instrumental in determining how to field assemble the forms for the 9-point star. I enjoyed working with my dad for 30+ years and my younger brother, David, for 40+ years. They are the smartest builders I’ve ever met and know more than just the office and preconstruction aspects to a job. We made a great team and built some awesome projects together.
Doyou have any partingwordsyou’d like to share?
It was a good ride, and I really appreciate the Bellows family for all they have done not only for me and my family, but for the City of Houston. Bellows’ reputation was always important to me and I challenge the current and future employees to keep the torch lit.
For 43 years, Tommy has poured excellence into every one of his jobs. His work and mentorship will stand as a lasting testament to his skill and dedication. Tommy, wewishyou all the best in thiswellearned and richly deserved retirement. Enjoy this next chapter ― but don’t be a stranger!
