The Western Riverside Council of Governments (WRCOG) General Assembly is a distinctive gathering where leaders from across our region come together to connect, reflect on achievements, and plan for the work ahead. Admiral William H. McRaven is a retired U.S. Navy Four-Star admiral known for leading the 2011 mission that captured Osama bin Laden. Through out his military career, he commanded U.S. Special Operations at every level, playing key roles in missions like the capture of Saddam Hussein and the rescue of Captain Phillips. Following his military service, McRaven served as Chancellor of the University of Texas System, overseeing 14 institutions and 220,000 students. A national authority on U.S. foreign policy, he has advised Presidents Bush and Obama. He’s also a bestselling author of Make Your Bed and The Wisdom of the Bullfrog.
