We also have a wembleyprimary facebook page. ____________________________ Class Assemblies Please join us for your child’s class assembly; it is always wonderful to see lots of parents. Assemblies start at 9.05am. Friday 21st March- 3W More to follow in the Summer term _________________________ Farewell Ms Anazodo, the Assistant Headteacher for the upper school will be leaving Wembley Primary school at the end of this term. She will be taking up the post of Deputy Headteacher at a school in the Borough of Ealing. Ms Roughley who has been at Wembley Primary for seven years will also be leaving the school. She is starting a job as a Specialist Leader of Education in the new term. I am sure you will join us in wishing both members of staff the very best of luck in their new roles.

Teachers’ unions are taking industrial action on Wednesday 26th March. This one day strike will mean that we have no choice but to close the

following classes: RP-Mrs Pirillas RS-Mrs Tapping 1W-Miss Boylan 1P-Miss Vaughey 1S-Mrs Ghasi 2S-Miss Lawes 2F-Miss Delcassian 3S-Mrs D’Souza 3F-Miss Chaudhry 4W-Miss Sykes 4S-Miss Kennedy 5P-Miss Gold 5F-Miss Ahmed

This means that children in the above classes will not be able to come into school for that day.

The 26th March will be a normal school day for all other classes.

Policies There are a number of policies in school that ensure we promote good practice and ensure the safety of all our children. Parents may be interested to read our behaviour policy and child protection policy; both of these may be found on our website. Copies of these policies are also available at our reception desk.

PE Kit Please ensure that your child has a PE kit in school to enable them to participate fully in PE Lessons. PE is part of the National Curriculum; therefore every child is expected to participate in every lesson. The PE kit includes: White t-shirt Black plimsolls or trainers with nonmarking soles Black/Navy blue PE shorts Black/Navy blue tracksuit

SATs This year KS2 (year 6) SATs week starts on Monday 12th May. There are tests all week: Monday 12th English Reading th Tuesday 13 English Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling th Wednesday 14 Mental Maths and Maths Paper 1 Thursday 15th Maths Paper 2

Punctuality

We will be providing a free breakfast for year 6 children during this week. Breakfast will be served from 8am until 8.30am. Thank you to all our families who are arriving on time for school. The number of children on time for school has improved slightly:Week beginning 3rd March-248 lates Week beginning 10th March 211 lates We would like to see further improvement, don’t forget school starts at 8.50am.

_______________________________ _ Mother’s Day Lunch for Year 1 Mums. On Friday 28th Year 1 Mums are invited to join their children for a special Mother’s day lunch. Lunch will be served at 11.45. Please purchase tickets (£3) for this event on Parent Pay.
