THE ISLAND BRIDGE

TURKS & CAICOS Not your typical charter destination, the islands of the Turks and Caicos offer miles of unspoiled beaches, watersports and amenities to rival any Caribbean hot spot. Located 575 miles from Miami, Florida, south of The Bahamas chain and north of Hispaniola, the Turks and Caicos are surrounded by a barrier reef—the world’s third largest—which creates a mirror-flat sea. Take advantage of these flat waters and shallow beaches to kiteboard, paddleboard and snorkel or scuba dive to your heart’s content. Fishing is also big on the islands, with deep-sea and flats fishing all being very popular. The English-speaking Turks and Caicos are rather well suited for a late season or early season charter as they are located en route to and from the Caribbean. The reefs offer many diving and snorkelling options where you will see incredible sponges, coral formations, large grouper, Caribbean reef fish and stingrays. The diving conditions are excellent for all levels.

ITINE RA RY DAY 1 PROVIDENCIALES Arrive in the Turks’ largest city, Providenciales, and spend the day visiting the small island town, which is chock full of some of the most popular hotel groups in the world and thus great restaurants. Board your yacht at the Blue Haven Resort and Marina.

DAY 2 FORT GEORGE CAY Stunning beaches go on for miles. Today your crew will prepare a beach BBQ, which will let you enjoy the uninhabited cay and the use of the yacht’s numerous water toys. A great snorkel site for younger, non-diving members of your party are the cannons that can be found in the shallow waters off the northeast point of the cay. Keep an eye out for Jo Jo, a dolphin who has made this area his own and often swims up to vessels at anchor to play.
