Il mondo del design e dell’arredo trova nella barca uno straordinario laboratorio di ricerca. Proprio in questo ambito, negli ultimi tempi, sono state sperimentate con successo una serie di soluzioni sia estetiche sia funzionali che hanno completamente cambiato il modo di vivere gli spazi su un’imbarcazione. Il motore di quella che può essere definita una vera e propria rivoluzione progettuale è l’esigenza di ricreare a bordo atmosfere e stili di vita mutuati dal residenziale. Un terreno particolarmente fertile sul quale si sono cimentate alcune tra le firme più prestigiose del design e dell’architettura, il cui contributo, a livello creativo, ha coniato nuovi linguaggi stilistici e cambiato volto agli interni della barca. L’altro grande tema progettuale riguarda la necessità sempre più diffusa di azzerare i confini tra spazio interno ed esterno, con quest’ultimo che occupa un ruolo sempre più centrale. I grandi saloni oggi vengono progettati e arredati in modo da creare un’unica grande superficie senza soluzione di continuità. I ponti superiori sono concepiti per ospitare spazi multifunzione, che si trasformano nei diversi momenti della giornata. Perfino la cabina armatoriale offre la possibilità di beneficiare di un accesso a un’area all’aperto dedicata, un ambiente da godere nella privacy più completa e in totale intimità. Una partita, questa, nella quale il legame con l’ambiente gioca un ruolo centrale. Basti pensare alla presenza sempre più “ingombrante” delle superfici vetrate, utilizzate per azzerare la distanza con il contesto circostante, che sia un centro urbano oppure il mare. La connessione con il mondo esterno non deve essere solo percepita a livello visivo: deve coinvolgere tutti i sensi e trasformarsi in un legame fisico, viscerale. Non c’è firma del design che non annoveri nella sua offerta una o più proposte riferite agli ambienti di bordo, interni ed esterni, quasi a voler azzerare i confini tra la terraferma e il mare.
