Human Resources for Health (HRH) are essential for health care delivery
● Essential part of supply chain (sharp end, delivery point to consumer)
● Currentlypoorly accounted for
HRH need to be engaged in supply chain decisions in a way that protects clinical time (i.e., not burdensome)
● Ensure acceptability of equipment, etc., including alternate sources of supply(e.g., domesticsupplier)
● Engagementto supportethical decision making about allocation of scarce resources.
● Workgroup may develop continuing education materials for organizations to use to educate target audiences about the role of HRH in supply chain
● Leaders, decision makers and health professionals need to be educated about the supply chain and the role of HRH in the chain
● IT needs to be engagedwith HRH to ensure that digital supportsdo not add to clinical burden
● This supportsretention and recruitmentof HRH for the system – core function for supply chain
