From 2 Rice Street

As I write this message we are being pelted by a cold, wet Nor’easter. Hard to imagine we had 132 players this past Saturday.

The golf course opening was very well received by those that played, many raved at how good the conditions are and thought the new 11th hole design was spectacular!

Our course is the club’s biggest asset and we need to take care of it, especially coming out of construction. The following was in the last newsletter, but I am posting again to stress the importance.

Please help us take care of our new course by observing the following:

*Bunkers – enter and exit at the flattest portion of the bunker. Do not climb up steep bunker faces.

*Rake Bunkers – common course etiquette.

*Carts – follow cart rules for the day and keep carts well away from greens.

*Divot – replace them, not only will the turn grow back, but you will eliminate divots littering our fairways.

*Ball Marks – repair one or more on every green, even if you did not make them.

Looking forward to seeing you on the course soon, after the snow melts!

GOLF COURSE REOPENING ETIQUETTE REMINDERS

Holes 8-16 opened Easter Weekend on a cool, blustery morning. 130+ golfers came out on Opening Day with some wonderful reviews from those who got to play the restored golf course. Hole 11 may have been the most talked about hole from our first golfers of the season with excitement over the new features and green complex receiving rave reviews!

As great of a winter it was for the golf course, it is important that everyone does their part with best practices for course care each and every time out to the course. Please take a moment to review some videos as a reminder on how you can take good care of your wonderful golf course. Please be mindful as well when bringing out guests and remind them of the standards we have at Worcester Country Club.
