ROUND ONE RECAP

President'sReport:

Welcome to all our sponsors and supporters and also a special mention of our helpers & volunteers, as without them our home games wouldn’t happen. Our last hit out gave us a win for the girls, draw for the under 18’s, a strong win for the Reggie and a 2 point loss for our first grade team. Coming from a weekend off, all should be ready for a big day against Coffs Comets. Thank you everyone for coming out & supporting the Seahorses. Go Woopi!!!

Special thanks!

This week's special thanks goes to Nikki Riley. Nikki is the better half of our Senior Vice President - Dave Riley. She kindly gives up her time every home game to run one of our 2 bars. Thanks for all your hard work Nikki, we're lucky to have people like you volunteering for our club.

ROUND 3 RECAP

Coach's Report:

Under 18's:

On Sunday the 18’s played against a fired up south Grafton side intent on a victory and running with a strong breeze put Woolgoolga under pressure but the boys hung on going into the break 4 points down. At the start of the second half the wind died down and the rain came in. Both sides ran in tries to make an exciting finish to the second half with Woolgoolga defending their line bravely in the dying minutes to hang on to a 20 all draw. The 18’s played well only having 2 reserves against a full strength rebels squad.

Ladies League Tag:

The girls are coming off a comprehensive win in South Grafton last weekend, they have prepared hard this week knowing this is one of the toughest weeks we will have Coffs Harbour are year in year out the most competitive league tag team but we have shown what dedication and solid team spirit can do. Thank you everyone for your support and bring on the footy!

ROUND 3 RECAP

Coach's Report:

Reserve Grade:

The boys were on from the warmup !! Our first half was probably our best half all year scoring 5 tries!! After the break the boys thought they were just going to win easy but the rebels had other thoughts running in the 2 opening try’s of 2nd half !! The boys clicked back into gear and finished the game with 3 try’s winning 30-10!! Bring on the comets

First Grade:

Last week we travelled to south Grafton to take on the rebels. Points were hard to come by in the first half with both sides defending very well in the wet conditions. Sione fangupo scored the first try of the match. Not long after that the rebels hit back. The rest of the first half was very messy with a lot of dropped ball but just on the stroke of halftime Matt Golsby scored in the corner the send us into the break with a 8-4 lead. Not long into the second half Ethan Duncombe crossed to give us a 12-4 lead but unfortunately that was where our scoring stopped. Rebels crossed twice and we were unable to hit back unfortunately losing 14-12.

Defence was positive but ball handling and execution really let us down.
