Saskia’s Dream and other works from this period blend music and visual art. A talented pianist, Dowell projected these prints onto a screen and, accompanied by a group of musicians, improvised music inspired by the art. Dowell received his BFA in printmaking from Temple University’s Tyler School of Art and his MFA in printmaking from the University of Washington, Seattle. He is a professor emeritus of printmaking at Tyler School of Art. His photographs and printed work have been shown nationally and internationally.
