ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT NEWS Warrior Football Season Begins The Warriors ended up on the wrong side of the score with a 49-13 loss to Austin Regents last Friday night. The team is ready to bounce back when they host cross-town rivals, The John Cooper School on Friday, September 6. The action is scheduled to get underway at 7:00 p.m. at Warrior Field.

In addition to an exciting football game, Woodlands Christian is hosting Pastors’ Night in honor of all the men and women of our

community who serve our Lord in full-time ministry. Area pastors will be honored during a special half-time presentation.

Come out to the game and show your appreciation for our local pastors, and cheer our Warriors on to victory!

Afterwards, join the team at Jerry Built Burgers (Lake Woodlands Drive near The Woodlands Mall) for a post-game celebration!

Warrior Volleyball Begins District Play The Warrior varsity volleyball began district play with a 3-2 match victory over Rosehill Christian on August 27. The team hosted Katy Faith West on September 3 and won the match 3-2. The Warriors are now 2-0 in district play and will have a break in district competition when they travel to Covenant Christian for a match on Thursday, September 5. The team

returns to district play when they visit Cypress Christian for a match on September 10. The team returns home for a district contest against St. Thomas Episcopal on September 12. The Green Machine has started off the district season with authority so come out and support your Warrior volleyball team!

ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT NEWS Warrior Cross Country Update The cross country team continues to work hard as we begin the season. Last weekend we competed at the Friday Night Lights meet hosted by The Woodlands High School. With over 80 teams participating, it gave us a great opportunity to gauge our training in addition to competing with many of the best runners in the area. (See photo below.)

Next up for the Warrior runners is the John Cooper Invitational on Saturday, September 7. The meet begins at 8:00 a.m. at the Conroe Family YMCA. Come out and cheer on your Warrior cross country team!
