On behalf of our Governance Board, administration, and faculty, we are pleased to present this Report of Appreciation, summarizing highlights from the 2023-2024 school year. At Woodlands Christian, we strive to equip leaders - spiritually, intellectually, creatively, physically, and socially - to fulfill God’s purpose for each of their lives.
This was an exciting year at Woodlands Christian as we celebrated our 30th anniversary. God has abundantly blessed our community, and reflecting upon our journey this past year was humbling and encouraging. We achieved record student enrollment and began constructing an Arts Education Building and Outdoor Amphitheater with your generous support. Our students attained top scores on standardized exams, and the Class of 2024 seniors received outstanding college acceptances and meritbased college scholarship offers. They competed well in athletic, academic, and STEAM competitions, and our students amazed us with their fine arts talents and hearts for serving others.
We value our responsibility as financial stewards and are grateful for your investment in this school. We have received clean, unqualified financial audits for 18 years, and debt service is less than 1% of our operating expenses. This was a celebratory year for the fundraising efforts that enabled us to use additional fundraising dollars to enhance the campus and programs.
We hope you enjoy this Report of Appreciation that recognizes our community of supporters, focusing on the achievements from the previous year and the annual report of gifts. We are, as always, grateful for the contributions of time, talent, and treasure that we receive from you, our families, and friends at The Woodlands Christian Academy.
Serving Him,
Julie H. Ambler HEAD OF SCHOOL
The Woodlands Christian Academy is an independent, Christ-centered college preparatory school that integrates learning with Biblical faith and spiritual growth, and challenges students to reach their highest potential – intellectually, creatively, physically and socially – for the glory of Jesus Christ.

In 1993, a bold group of visionaries was called upon to develop and establish a school where students could learn from exceptional teachers and grow in their faith in Christ. We would not be where we are today without the dedication of our early and current families, alumni, faculty, and staff who believe in and support the mission of the school.
The Woodlands Christian Academy opens with classes for Pre-K through 6th grade. School was held in various locations, including Faith Bible Church and Abundant Life Assembly.
TWCA acquires its permanent location, purchasing the 40 acres for just $250,000 thanks to the endangered, red-cockaded woodpecker and God’s provision.
The Daniel Student Life Center and baseball stadium are completed. Enrollment reaches 340 as TWCA begins its tenth year.
Our first graduating class “Lead the Way.” These 12 students also become TWCA’s inaugural class of alumni.
We finished construction of the Timothy Administration Building, EMPR, Library, and parking lots. Grade level offerings are expanded to high school and TWCA begins growing into a Pre-K - 12 school.
Warriors prepare for Y2K and celebrate the new millennium.
The Board met for prayer and re-dedicated themselves and TWCA to the Lord reaffirming Jesus Christ is the ultimate head of the school.
Julie Ambler is invited by the Board to become Head of School.
The board adopted the Policy Governance model for better oversight and day-to-day management. The word “Socially” is added to the mission statement.
The Warrior baseball team earns TWCA’s first-ever state athletic championship (TAPPS 2A).
The Nehemiah Academic Center is opened as the new High School building. It now serves as home for our Middle School.
Neighboring Crossroads Baptist Church purchases 20-acres in front of our campus allowing reciprocal use for parking, car line, and special events – making all 60 acres Kingdom land.
TWCA moves up to 11-man football under fourth year head coach, Jerry Bradshaw.
Warrior Boosters hold their inaugural golf tournament to raise funds for the athletic program, an annual tradition that continues today.
High School students took a day off from school to serve the community at TWCA’s first Day of Caring.
TWCA dedicates the new softball complex as the latest addition to its athletic facilities.
TWCA adds an 8-lane, 400-meter track named in honor of Coach Tom Earle whose boy’s track team won the 2015 state championship. Artificial turf is laid on the field and stadium seating is added for 1,000 fans.
Enrollment passes 400 as TWCA celebrates its 20-year anniversary.
The 28,000 square-foot Joshua Academic Center adds 20 classrooms. The David Gym (previously a pavilion-covered outdoor court) is finished to serve as a second gym for TWCA’s growing number of athletes, teams and events.
The Micah Academic Center opens as the High School’s new home. It has 24 large classrooms, college-caliber lab rooms, conference spaces, offices, flex space, a coffee bar, and a 354-seat auditorium. Enrollment grows past 650.
Added the Joseph Building, providing temporary classrooms during the construction of the Micah that same year. The Joseph is now the home of the weight room.
TWCA is named the Corporate Hometown Hero of The Woodlands by Interfaith for its support of the local community.
School closed campus for the Covid-19 pandemic and completed the 4th quarter with a robust distance learning program. Graduation was held outdoors on the football field on June 4, 2020.
TWCA was one of the first schools in the nation to resume in-person learning on August 12, 2020, and stayed open throughout the pandemic.
TWCA experiences significant growth during and following the pandemic. The school makes another Mission statement change with emphasis on spiritually, intellectually and creatively.
Completed the STEAM lab on the 3rd floor of the Micah to include classroom spaces, collaborative workspaces and a broadcasting studio.
The Spanish Immersion program is launched beginning with Kindergarten and adding a new grade each year.
TWCA celebrates its 30th anniversary with the slogan, “Three Decades of Inspiring Young Leaders.”
The Benjamin Wells School of the Arts Building is opened. This state-of-the-art complex includes an outdoor amphitheater, the largest black box theatre in Houston, a choir room, dance studio, art studio, and a band hall.
Renovations to the SLC create larger, collegiate-style locker rooms, a laundry room, conference area, and dedicated coaches offices. A sports medicine/ athletic training room is also added.
For 9 consecutive years, TWCA has earned international recognition as an Apple Distinguished School for the integration of technology.
Dr. William Parks
Thirty years ago, The Woodlands Christian Academy was established thanks to the vision and guidance of Dr. William and Debbie Parks. In the letter below, Dr. Parks expresses his story of the humble beginnings of our beloved school.
The story of The Woodlands Christian Academy began seven years before its inaugural K-6th year in 19931994. In 1987, my wife Debbie and I were appointed to a committee at The Woodlands United Methodist Church to explore the possibility of starting a Christian school. However, after six months, the committee dissolved due to space limitations at our church in Panther Creek.
Despite this setback, God had other plans (Jeremiah 29:11) and placed a strong desire in our hearts for Christian education in The Woodlands. We felt compelled to continue our search for a suitable facility. We prayed fervently and reached out to churches in The Woodlands, Oak Ridge, Tamina, and Shenandoah (Matthew 7:8). While many pastors expressed interest in starting a school, they hesitated to commit to serving the entire community. We felt God’s clear direction: His school would be open to all and not confined to just one denomination.
“
fifth year, I told the Lord, “If you want a Christian school in The Woodlands, you’ll have to open the doors!” In my pride to do His work, my selfish vision had led to failure. I needed to learn an important lesson: Pride always gets in the way. Human pride appears on almost every page of the Bible.
By the sixth year, when my passion had dwindled, God reignited the flame in my wife, Debbie. She became ‘on fire’ and picked up the torch to pursue the Lord’s direction. She reached out to Pastor Dave Anderson at Faith Community Church, who excitedly embraced our vision and agreed to host the school. With his experience in Christian education, Dave helped establish the founding board.
” Congratulations on 30 years of Christian education. It is a testament to God and your faithfulness!
A second, third, and fourth year passed with no progress and my hope began to fade. After a frustrating
Finally, in the seventh year of this dream, through hard work and divine guidance, we secured the necessary agreements, hired a principal and teachers, selected a curriculum, and announced our opening. A group of us knocked on doors in the community and called churches to secure enrollment of our first group of students before officially opening in September 1993.
The Governance Board of The Woodlands Christian Academy exists to ensure that our school is achieving its mission in the lives of students while prudently using the resources God has provided.
The Governance Board follows the Carver Policy Governance® Model which uses a structured monitoring system to measure the school’s progress in achieving its Ends policies as determined by the Board. By using this model, the Board is able to focus on our school’s longterm mission and vision while maintaining sound financial stewardship and integrity in relationships with families, employees, donors, accreditation agencies, and the greater community. The Governance Board hires only one employee, the Head of School, and delegates all day-to-day operations through explicit governing policies to the Head of School.
Ultimately, the Governance Board represents God and the moral owners of our school. Moral owners include parents, faculty and members of the greater Christian community who share the vision for the school and have a vested interest in its success.

As the sun set on Thursday, February 18, members of the TWCA community gathered to sign the beams of the new Fine Arts building. Warriors of all ages walked through the open space to write words of encouragement, scriptures, prayers, or sign their names. It was a time of dreaming about what this new building would bring to our campus. Attendees got to walk through the various rooms, each labeled with signs so that they could envision the future choir room, visual arts room, band room, black box theatre and so much more!
The building, officially named The Benjamin Wells School of the Arts, was opened on August 9, 2024, with a VIP reception and a “first look” to thank our major donors and to celebrate the closure of the Fine Arts Capital Campaign.
♫ Denotes donors who made gifts to the Fine Arts Capital Campaign totaling $50,000 or more.
“
...The arts are meant to encourage, uplift and even heal the human spirit. Ultimately, they glorify God. Our students cultivate their God-given creativity to bring Him glory!”
PHIL SWEGER, DIRECTOR OF FINE ARTS
Thank you for so generously supporting TWCA students through the Warrior Fund, a long-standing school tradition!
The Woodlands Christian Academy reintroduced the Warrior Fund Campaign in October 2023, on the heels of the kick-off to TWCA’s yearlong 30th anniversary celebration. The campaign established new giving societies surrounding our pillars and commemorating Woodlands Christian’s 30 years!
The Warrior Fund - “Building Our Pillars” Campaign contributed to the student experience at TWCA. Generous support from TWCA community helped to ensure students are equipped spiritually, intellectually, creatively, physically, and socially to fulfill God’s purpose for their lives.
Over $267,000 was raised from 284 families, friends, companies and foundations. Every dollar of the Warrior Fund goes to support each student and their educational experience – clearly defining the Warrior Way of life.
The 2023 proceeds from the Warrior Fund were designated as follows:
$101,008 SPIRITUALLY:
These dollars were used to increase security and safety at the school, including the installation of additional fencing on the south side of the campus.
$66,768 CREATIVELY:
We used these funds to further enhance the audio-video equipment in the new Fine Arts Building (The Benjamin Wells School of the Arts).
$51,982 INTELLECTUALLY: STEAM
Under the guidance of Dr. Mark Crenshaw, Director of STEAM, we acquired materials to provide more hands-on, project-based learning experiences for students from Pre-K–12th grade.
$29,967
These funds were made available to qualified applicants for the 2024-2025 school year. Need-based financial aid enables us to attract additional students who will make a positive impact on the school’s culture.
$26,646
With these funds, the athletic department continues to focus on skill-building, equipment and sports medicine initiatives to build stronger and more skilled athletes while helping to protect them from injuries on the field and court.
Seventy-seven families made gifts of $1,993 or more and were recognized as inaugural members of the 1993 Giving Society, appropriately named to honor the year the school was founded. Society members were invited to a celebration hosted by Karisa and Fred Gallucci at Mercedes-Benz of The Woodlands in January. We are so grateful to the Gallucci’s for being the inaugural chairs and Reception Sponsor for the 1993 Giving Society!
Thank you for modeling generosity to students and for enhancing the educational experience through your support of The Warrior Fund. We are humbled and honored to serve alongside you as we inspire and equip the next generation of Christian leaders together.

The Worthy Servants program was initiated by TWCA parents as a way to express their gratitude and recognize the dedication of our teachers. Gifts to this fund are shared equally among all staff. This cherished tradition offers families a meaningful opportunity to bless the school’s dedicated employees during the Christmas season.

Serving as Warrior Boosters Chairs for TWCA over the past two years has been a true honor and joy. We’ve forged countless friendships within our school community while working diligently to support and enhance the Fine Arts and Athletic programs. The Woodlands Christian Academy laid a strong foundation for these initiatives, enabling students to discover and strengthen their God-given talents, and we see it as our duty to uphold that foundation.
As Chairs, our mission was to significantly enhance the Athletics and Fine Arts departments while maintaining the state-of-the-art facilities we’ve built over the years. We believe our team has met—and even surpassed—our goals. Thanks to our Booster supporters, we have proudly purchased new uniforms for both middle and high school teams, athletic equipment, a top-notch weight room, boys’ and girls’ locker rooms, a sports training room, and new flooring and lights in the David gym. Boosters also funded essential Fine Arts upgrades, including display boards, new microphones, and PA systems for the lower school music program and theater.
We’ve aimed to instill pride in our students and families as part of the Warrior Family and to share that enthusiasm with our community. The spirit of Warrior pride has been palpable, evidenced by record attendance at events like the Color Run, Grand Days, Crawfish Boil, and the incredible, annual Golf Tournament. We’ve also seen an unprecedented increase in Boosters memberships over the past few years. This growth reflects the hard work and dedication of the Boosters Committee and all the volunteers who contributed countless hours to planning and executing these events. Witnessing the pieces of the Boosters’ puzzle come together has shown us the power of serving alongside those who share a deep passion for our school.
In closing, we encourage all TWCA families to support Warrior Boosters by contributing in any way you can—be it time, talents, or treasures—all are vital for the growth of the Athletic and Fine Arts programs at TWCA. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve our school and pray that our Athletics and Fine Arts departments continue to soar!

The 5th Annual Warrior Color Run was held on March 23, 2024. Over 400 runners participated in this fun, all-school event sponsored by Hunter Family Orthodontics and Parke & Rogers Dentistry.
A favorite TWCA tradition, this family-friendly event featured music and complimentary food, offering participants the choice of a 1K run looping behind the baseball field or a 5K run through the W. G. Jones State Forest. Spectators lined the course, spraying runners with vibrant colored powder, leaving them completely covered in a rainbow of color by the time they reached the finish line.

The Woodlands Christian Academy has been graciously endowed with a gift from a generous TWCA family to honor one full-time employee each year. This prestigious accolade, designated as The Julie Ambler Educator Impact Award, recognizes an employee who exemplifies the core values and principles of TWCA, with a $5,000 honorarium.
We were thrilled to announce the inaugural recipient of The Julie Ambler Educator Impact Award: Coach Jerry Bradshaw. Coach Bradshaw was selected for this honor due to his unwavering commitment to the spiritual and academic growth of his students. Nominated by his colleagues, he stands out as a strong Christian witness, consistently supporting, engaging, and inspiring students to reach their full potential. His dedication to fostering positive relationships with students and staff embodies the essence of TWCA’s values, making him a beloved figure within the school community.
In his role as a teacher and a coach, Jerry Bradshaw has not only motivated students but has also inspired individual transformation through his personal relationship with Christ. His passion for growth is evident, as he continually encourages students, alumni, colleagues, and the broader TWCA community to strive for excellence in all areas—spiritually, intellectually, creatively, physically, and socially. In his 20 years of service at TWCA, Coach Bradshaw has helped create an environment where students feel celebrated and valued and has reinforced the school’s mission of nurturing the whole person.
The family chose to honor Mrs. Ambler with this named endowment because of her long-standing and loyal commitment to TWCA. Her love for Jesus Christ, the school’s mission, and her affection for our faculty, staff, students, and families have been her driving force in shepherding the school to become a strong Christian pillar in the community.
“
I’m very much surprised, very humbled and very honored.
Thank you so much!
- COACH JERRY BRADSHAW
”
Colleagues, alumni/alumni families, and current families may submit nominations for this award each spring. More information and a list of criteria will be made available during open nominations.
...in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.”
The mission of TWCA’s Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF) is to engage and motivate volunteers who are dedicated to supporting the school in fulfilling its mission and vision. They aim to foster a welcoming environment that enhances the educational experience for all students and families.
PTF has three key goals:
• To involve our families in volunteer opportunities
• To support our volunteers in delivering exceptional service
• To foster a vibrant and supportive community among our school families
Each year, PTF volunteers for countless activities, hosts teacher appreciation events, provides snacks and decorations, serves as liaisons for each grade, and provides fellowship and discipleship opportunities for parents through Moms in Prayer and All-In Dads.
We are extremely thankful for the support the PTF provides in shaping the culture of TWCA.

Last November, over 100 Warrior moms and their sons joined us for the annual Mother-Son Paintball Battle at Texas Legends Paintball. The day was filled with lots of fun playing paintball with each other and, afterward, enjoying refreshing snow cones. A special thank you to Corporate Incentives for providing the t-shirts!
The Butterfly Ball in Candyland, led by Laura Everson and Ellie Alcala, was truly a night to remember. It was a special time for fun, laughter, and father-daughter bonding. The David Gym was transformed into a magical Candyland complete with a delicious meal, sweets and treats, dancing, games, door prizes, and more for over 320 fathers and daughters!

The Warrior Fund is the most important fundraiser held annually. It serves as the key fundraising initiative aimed at enriching and expanding programs to provide our students and faculty with the utmost conducive environment for growth & success. Each contribution to the Warrior Fund directly supports students, fueling the enhancement and evolution of their educational journey – the embodiment of the Warrior Way of life.
Capital campaigns are designed to enhance the school’s facilities and resources, enrich students’ overall educational experience and secure the long-term sustainability and future growth of TWCA.
Endowment and Planned Gifts play a crucial role in securing the financial future and sustainability of TWCA. Donors have the opportunity to establish a lasting legacy of excellence today, knowing that their investment will positively impact students for generations. Gifts can either be unrestricted or donor designated to a specific area approved by the school.
This holiday giving tradition offers families a meaningful opportunity to bless the school’s employees during the Christmas season. Funds are shared among all faculty and staff in appreciation of their dedication and service.
Warrior Boosters is a parent-run organization that promotes school spirit and furthers opportunities for students through fundraising for and support of the Athletic and Fine Arts Programs.
Woodlands Christian’s Annual Auction & Gala is an evening dedicated to fellowship, fundraising and celebration. It is a memorable night filled with dinner, dancing, a live auction, storytelling and gathering together with the TWCA community. All contributions to the Annual Auction & Gala further TWCA’s mission and directly benefit students, enriching their educational experience and bolstering academic and co-curricular programs.

The Woodlands Christian Academy is a non-profit, 501 (c) (3) organization. Tax ID #76-0391401. Your donation is tax-deductible as allowed by law.
Since the beginning days of The Woodlands Christian Academy, generous families, friends, corporations have been dedicated to its growth and success. Most donations are made to the school via cash or credit card. However, there are additional ways for contributions to be made in support of the school. Please confer with your financial advisor to determine which method is best for you.
The Woodlands Christian Academy accepts donations of appreciated securities from its donors. In most cases, donors can minimize or eliminate capital gains tax liability on the appreciated stock by making this transfer and maximizing their gift in support of the school.
Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) have increased in popularity with donors recently, becoming a more common method of giving to non-profit organizations such as The Woodlands Christian Academy. Donors contribute cash, securities, or other assets to a giving account and receive an immediate tax deduction. Sundds are invested for taxfree growth, and donors can then recommend grants to non-profit organizations like TWCA now or over time.
If you are 70 ½ or older, you may be able to contribute an amount of up to $100,000 each year from your IRA directly to The Woodlands Christian Academy as a qualified charitable distribution (QCD). QCSs are excluded from taxable income.
Over 24,000 organizations match the gifts of their employees, retirees, or spouses of employees to qualified non-profit organizations such as The Woodlands Christian Academy. Donors who facilitate these matching gifts are recognized for the combined impact of their gift and that of their employer. When making your gift online to the school, you may automatically check to see if your organization matches gifts and submit your gift to match through our online portal - Double the Donation.
Planned giving is a way for you to support the school at a future date through personal financial and estate planning. While most planned gifts contribute to organizations through bequests (wills or trusts), other financial options can be utilized to meet your financial plans, including some that can provide income during your lifetime. In addition to benefiting the school, planned gifts can minimize the tax burden of your heirs.

During homecoming week, our entire school paused for student-led worship and prayer to participate in “See You At The Pole,” gathering in spirit with students, teachers, and parents who were doing the same at schools around the country.
