A C A D E M ACADEMY Y CHRISTIAN SEPTEMBER 5, 2014
Annual Fund 2014 - by Kellie Armstrong, Director of Development I am continually amazed at the genuine commitment, kindness and overwhelming generosity of Woodlands Christian families. It is an honor to work in an environment that values academic excellence, competes fiercely in athletics, serves others humbly and praises God with every breath! As the Director of Development, I am dedicated to supporting the mission of Woodlands Christian by nurturing lifelong connections with our alumni and families; securing financial resources through our Annual Fund, auction and gala, capital campaign and other funding initiatives; and promoting Woodlands Christian in our community. Next week we will kick off our 2014 Annual Fund campaign. We are honored to have Michael and Courtney Schindewolf chairing this year. Mike and Courtney have a son, Cade in the first grade and a future Warrior, Easton age two. Additionally, for the first time in Woodlands Christian history, Hal and Ginger Chappelle will serve as our Grandparent Chairs. The Chappelles have four grandchildren at Woodlands Christian Caleb Chappelle 7th grade, Sarah Chappelle 3rd grade, Samuel McClure 4th grade and Jacob McClure 1st grade. You will soon receive our Annual Report highlighting the accomplishments of the 2013-2014 academic year. In addition to our academic and athletic successes, you will see how your generous support has blessed our students and campus. On the back cover of the Annual Report, you will find a brochure outlining our Annual Fund goal of $250,000 to bridge the gap to cover operating expenses. In addition to our financial goal, we strive for 100% participation from all of our parents. With assistance from homeroom moms and class representatives, we have planned some fun incentives to help us achieve that goal. At the end of our Annual Fund campaign, we will host an on campus celebration, Friday, October 24th from 2:30-3:30 p.m. All students and families are invited; however, there will be special activities for those grades achieving 100% participation, as well as the grade raising the most money.
