All School News New Faculty & Staff Spotlight

Jessica Farley joins Woodlands Christian as our middle school administrative assistant. In 2011, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History with a minor in secondary education from Sam Houston State University. Her most recent experience includes retail management positions with The Gap and Visionworks.

“I am very open about my faith and I am always encouraging people through the Word. I believe that being in a Christian work environment will give me the opportunity to encourage others, and to speak God’s truths.”

Jason Farra will join the Woodlands Christian staff as our Campus Pastor. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Houston and a Master of Theological Studies from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Most recently, he was Associate Pastor at The Church at Alden Bridge here in The Woodlands.

“I am personally passionate about the school’s desire to challenge students to love the Lord with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength. Students are not served well if they do not learn how to search out the deep truths of our faith in the scripture. I believe this is what is meant by loving the Lord with our minds. I appreciate that Woodlands Christian is striving to help students learn to grow spiritually and not only develop students academically and physically.

Kara Kemp will teach Bible in our high school. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical Studies from Dallas Baptist University. She comes to Woodlands Christian from Living Stones Christian School (Alvin, Texas) where she was also a volleyball coach.

“Speaking to students in a conversational way and leading them to make their own conclusions is an effective teaching method that allows students to examine and define their own beliefs. Questioning spurs a student’s thoughts because we can’t help but answer a question when it is asked.”

All School News New Faculty & Staff Spotlight -- continued Nicole Leppert joins Woodlands Christian as Assistant Director of Development.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in French and a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from Arizona State University (College of Honors).

Her most recent experience was as President and CEO of Leppert Holdings, a local venture which owned various franchises here in The Woodlands.

“I am thrilled to put my business talents to work at Woodlands Christian. I look forward to strengthening the ties our school already has in our community and creating new ones. I am especially excited about building relationships with our growing alumni base.”

Audra Lewis will manage The Armory, our campus store. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Houston Baptist University with a double major in Mass Media and Speech. Most recently, she was Director of Catering for Chick-Fil-A at the Alden Bridge Shopping Center location.

“I have discovered the most effective means to instill positive change is listening to needs and concerns, seeking God, seeking wise counsel, developing a plan, waiting for peace about the matter and then moving forward.”

Jennifer Russell will join the middle school faculty as a science teacher. She holds Bachelor of Science and Masters degrees in Biology from the University of Northern Colorado. She most recently taught at The Woodlands Preparatory Academy.

“The idea that Woodlands Christian strives to foster an atmosphere that encourages critical thinking, the discovery of truth, and the appreciation of life-long learning is especially important to me. This idea, in combination with the belief that the Lord is our creator, allows for us to truly appreciate all the wonders of the world and to understand that there is always so much to learn and embrace in this changing world.”
