Lower School News Woodlands Christian Speech Meet The 12th annual Woodlands Christian Lower School speech meet was held on Thursday, January 30. A record sixty eight (68) students participated in this yearâ€™s meet. Students recited Bible verses and stories, poetry, fables, and patriotic pieces. It takes courage and determination to stand before a group and give an oral presentation! Way to go participants! Upper School News Guest Speaker Addresses The Subject Of Bullying Middle and high school students welcomed Michael McDermott, President and CEO of Bully Proof USA, to chapel on Monday, January 27. Mr. McDermott shared a multi-media presentation about bully proofing our school. Mr. McDermott addressed topics such as how to notice signs of bullying and how to combat bullying. Bully Proof USA is an organization committed to battling bullying in schools across America. The organization presents seminars designed to inspire young people to stand up to bullying and to put educational tools into the hands of parents and educators. ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT NEWS Warrior Basketball Your Warrior basketball teams will host Cypress Christian on Friday, January 31 here at Woodlands Christian. The girls’ varsity team gets the action started at 6:00 p.m. followed by the boys’ varsity at 7:30 p.m. Recent winter weather forced the
boys’ and girls’ varsity basketball teams to cancel their games with Faith West Academy. These games will now be played on Thursday, February 13 at Faith West. Tip-off for the girls’ game is 6:00 p.m. followed by the boys’ game at 7:30 p.m.
Warrior Baseball Warrior baseball continues to gear up for the regular season with a home scrimmage against Northland Christian this Friday, January 31 at 5:00 p.m. On Saturday, February 1 the Warriors host their annual alumni game at 11:00 a.m.
After these two home games, the Warriors will be on the road until February 20 when they return to co-host the Woodlands Christian/John Cooper Baseball Classic. Go Warrior Baseball!
Warrior Swimming The Warrior varsity swim team will compete in the TAPPS regional swim meet in Pearland on Saturday, February 1. The meet begins at 9:00 a.m. at the Pearland Recreation Center and Natatorium. Click here for directions. Go Warrior Swimming!
