Dr. Bruce Lockerbie Visits Woodlands Christian The Woodlands Christian Academy was pleased to host Dr. Bruce Lockerbie as guest speaker for the Compass Lecture Series on Wednesday, April 23. Dr. Lockerbie is a pioneer in the field of Christian education and is a leading advocate of intellectual Christian schooling throughout the world. He was also instrumental in the founding of our school and the crafting of our mission statement which is a follows: The Woodlands Christian Academy is an independent, Christ-centered college preparatory school that integrates learning with biblical faith and challenges our students to reach their highest potential - spiritually, academically, physically, and socially - for the glory of Jesus Christ. The subject of Dr. Lockerbie’s presentation was The Abdication Of Belief. Why Is Today’s Generation Losing Their Christian Faith-And How Can We Stop The Slide? He stressed the importance of a Christian education and encouraged parents to be examples to their children of distinctly Christian living. On Thursday morning, he spent time in the classroom with our students discussing a wide variety of topics such as the history of the education system in the United States including the founding of Harvard and Yale universities, and the cultural times of Lot and how they closely parallel ours.
