A MESSAGE FROM AARON COX

As we approach the close of another remarkable year in The Woodlands Area, I want to extend my warmest holiday wishes to you — our valued members, partners and community leaders. This season naturally invites reflection, and as I look back, I am filled with deep gratitude for the camaraderie, collaboration and energy you bring to our Chamber community.

From our Board of Directors to our dedicated Chamber team, we want to express our heartfelt thanks. Your partnership, your businesses and your leadership continue to strengthen the economic vitality and cultural richness of our region. The Woodlands area continues to stand as a model for business innovation, community partnership and resilient growth all because of each one of you.

We continue to build incredible momentum. This was demonstrated most recently with The Woodlands Area Business Summit where we welcomed record attendance, sparked dynamic conversation and equipped our business community with tools and connections to thrive. Just prior to that was the Chamber Annual Meeting and Awards Luncheon, honoring exceptional organizations and individuals who demonstrate what makes our business community so special. These events showcased not only the passion of our members but also the power of working together toward shared success.

As we look ahead to 2026, our excitement is unmistakable. We are focused on building new opportunities for connection, expanding member value, amplifying regional collaboration and championing the businesses that form the backbone of our community. THE FUTURE IS BRIGHT—and we can’t wait to shape it with you.

On behalf of our entire Chamber family, thank you for your partnership, your commitment, and your belief in what we can achieve together. May this holiday season bring rest, joy and celebration to you and your families. Here’s to continued success and an inspiring year ahead.

Business Summit Celebrates 5 Years!

On November 7, several hundred small and mid-size business professionals gathered at the Hyatt Regency Conroe for the Chamber’s 5th Annual Woodlands Area Business Summit to learn, connect and grow together.

The theme of this year’s summit was Building Strategy & Stability in Today’s Business Climate Summit. It featured thought-provoking panels tackling current challenges facing the business community, interactive breakout sessions led by local experts and our first-ever hands-on workshop. All designed to help local leaders strengthen their business strategies and build meaningful connections.

The day was topped off with an inspiring keynote by Topsie VandenBosch, who imparted wisdom about leadership during times of transition and growth in business.

A special thank you to our Presenting Sponsor, Fidium Fiber, for making this event possible, and to every speaker, sponsor, volunteer and attendee who joined us. The Business Summit leadership deserves a standing ovation for their work on this event: Team Lead Cherelle’ Simon, Spherion Montgomery County, Co-Team Lead Jennifer Huffine, Community Assistance Center, and Assistant Co-Team Lead Patrick Johnson, Murphy Business Sales.

Congratulations to our Vice President of Membership, Cyndi Alvarado, and Director of Signature Events, Gabby Peña, for putting their heart and soul into creating a one-of-a-kind experience.

The business summit is a unique opportunity for businesses to gain actionable resources and insights and make authentic connections that will positively impact their personal and professional success.

“Today was an outstanding reminder of just how strong and engaged our business community is. The energy in every session, the quality of the conversations and the level of expertise shared made this our most successful Business Summit yet. For five years, we’ve built a homegrown event that brings real education and practical tools to the small and midsize businesses that drive our region. Watching attendees walk away with insights they can use right now is exactly why we do this,” said Aaron Cox, President & CEO of The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce.”

Inspire the Next Generation of Innovators through SCI://TECH

Education for Tomorrow Alliance (EfTA), in partnership with Conroe ISD and local private schools, is preparing for the 36th Annual SCI://TECH, launching in January 2026. Since 1990, SCI://TECH has offered hands-on STEM learning experiences for thousands of K–12 students across Montgomery County through 12 competitions and events that spark curiosity and encourage exploration.

To bring these programs to life, hundreds of volunteers are needed to support activities ranging from intermediate robotics competitions to senior high biotechnology challenges. The greatest volunteer need is for science fair judges at the Chevron Phillips Chemical Co. Senior High Science Fair and Entergy Junior High Science Fair, scheduled for Thursday, January 22, at the Lone Star Convention Center in Conroe.

More than 600 students will present their science fair projects during two time slots, including 7:45 am for senior high and 12:45 pm for junior high. The time commitment is about three hours. Judges will review and rank projects, helping to determine which students compete at the Science and Engineering Fair of Houston and beyond. No experience is required.

Volunteering for SCI://TECH supports local students and helps cultivate the future STEM workforce. Volunteers’ time and encouragement can make a lasting difference in inspiring tomorrow’s scientists, engineers, and innovators.

EDUCATION FOR TOMORROW ALLIANCE is a nonprofit organization dedicated to cultivating education and community partnerships that advance student success. For more information, please visit efta-us.org.

Breakfast Connections | Spotlights Spinal Care Chiropractic Center

The theme for October’s Breakfast Connections had members sharing what Halloween costumes “crack” them up. Members shared interesting costume ideas that they had worn or seen over the years. The spotlight sponsor was Spinal Care Chiropractic Center.

Spinal Care Chiropractic Center began in January 2000 with one simple goal…to change the lives of everyone they touched. Through the combination of chiropractic, acupuncture, nutritional counseling and Pilates-based exercises, they have been able to help most people reduce pain and discomfort and return to activities that are important to them. Chiropractic treatment uses a core set of modalities and adjusting techniques, with the reasons for treatment individualized for each patient. They treat patients with a variety of conditions including neck and back pain, but also patients who have allergies, heart disease, cancer, infertility challenges, gastrointestinal difficulties…and although they are not specifically treating

that condition, they are helping the patient feel better while they are being treated by other practitioners.

October was National Chiropractic Awareness month, with October 16th celebrated as World Spine Day! This year’s theme was Invest in your Spine! The goal is to raise public awareness of the importance of musculoskeletal health and the benefits of chiropractic care through its natural, whole-being, patient-centered approach to health and wellness. Chiropractic can play a pivotal role in musculoskeletal health, even if a patient is not experiencing pain. The body’s neurological function passes through the spinal column. Regular chiropractic manipulation can help maintain proper joint mobility, improve range of motion and flexibility, slow the arthritic process, and help the body function more efficiently overall. When chiropractic care is coupled with consistent exercise and activity, proper nutrition and sleep, and improved self-care, we are caring for the whole-being. So…Invest in your spine as you only get one!

The Hometown Chef Catering Co. Sponsors | Discovery Day

Asnew members gathered for the October Discovery Day to learn more about membership resources and benefits, they received quite the treat as The Hometown Chef Catering Co. was the October sponsor for Discovery Day and treated us all to an outstanding breakfast.

The Hometown Chef Catering Co. is led by the powerhouse husband and wife team of Executive Chef, Julio Avila and his wife, Tiffany Avila, CPCE.

Executive Chef Julio Avila has been a chef for over 27 years. After working with resorts and hotels, he and his wife, Tiffany, decided to start a catering company of their own. Chef Julio wanted to use his culinary expertise and partner those with Tiffany’s business and entrepreneurial skills, and The Hometown Chef Catering Co. was born.

Beginning in 2012 and mainly doing small social events, Chef Julio was contacted by an event venue owner that was renovating a former country club into a dual ballroom event venue and solicited the Avilas for help in the food and beverage aspect of the venue after seeing them and tasting their food at a local Chamber of Commerce luncheon. The Hometown Chef then became the exclusive food and beverage provide for this gorgeous venue by crafting customized food experiences.

As the couple continued to grow their catering company, requests came in to cater at other venues as well. Now, The Hometown Chef Catering Co. has gone on to be one of the premier catering companies serving Houston and the surrounding areas.
